Antica Mateola is located in Matera, 1.5 km from Palombaro Lungo, 2.1 km from Matera Cathedral, as well as 2.1 km from MUSMA Museum. Great location and lots of parking areas near it. Impressive service and lots of good information were provided to us to make our trip really enjoyable.

Set inside the Matera Sassi UNESCO site, Corte San Pietro is housed in a renovated historical building carved out of stone. It offers rooms with a private entrance and free Wi-Fi throughout. We had a wonderful time in a beautiful hotel which was in a great location. Our room was fantastic. Breakfast was gorgeous. Staff were so friendly, lovely and helpful. I would highly recommend Corte San Pietro and will definitely stay there again.

The togas, rituals, and attention to detail made the whole visit immersive and memorable. I also recommend booking an Ape Car tour through the front desk when you arrive—it’s the perfect way to explore Matera. Plus, if you call ahead, they’ll even arrange a pickup from the bus station, which is really convenient.

It has been beautifully restored. The rooms are lovely, very nicely decorated. The location was perfect. And I can not say enough good things about our hosts. Over and beyond wonderful. We stayed two nights, and could easily have stayed one or two more.
