Matera was a magical place. Our accommodation was in a great location close to good parking options. The hotel owner was very helpful helping us with any questions we had. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was delicious.

Antica Mateola ligt in Matera, op 2,1 km van Matera Cathedral en 2,1 km van MUSMA Museum. The devil hides in the details, and this is a very good example. Our host prepared everything for us. He sent us the directions in advance, also indicating where to park. As we arrived, he gave us suggestions of places to visit, where to eat, what to do. Did I mention that the room was great? A nice bed, a full bathroom, and even a hydromassage bathtub. The breakfast was fantastic, directly from the bakery, and they had drinks at your disposal. Definitely, it was a great experience and an excellent service.

The hotel and room itself are gorgeous, but the real stars of the show are the personnel - the service felt very personalised and that the personnel are very invested in the guests. The breakfast with sweet and savoury local delights was also great.

The view on its own over the Sassi is fantastic ! Easy to find your way out to the flat area as they call it ! We had a rental car but it was no problem . The parking garage outside of pedestrian zone was about 10 min walk . We had Room 1 with a huge jacuzzi tub which we used both nights after many steps all around the area. Great restaurants either down the stairs or up ! Whatever your body can go for after your day making Matera memories! This place is a 12/10 . Loved it 😍
