We had a lovely stay here. The hosts were so helpful and welcoming. The location is beautiful, the facilities are high quality and the place was spotless.

There was a hammock on the balcony, a firepit outside the spa in the evening, breakfast had a great range of home cooked food with locally sourced ingredients, including honey made on site. Room was clean and air conditioned with really nice attention to details. All the staff were really friendly and went out of their way to answer any questions we had. Super nice, friendly and relaxing vibe. You can walk to Orta in about 20-30 mins or drive down. There is secure parking too and the train station only a short walk away. Highly recommend this place!

Recently, my family and I went on an unforgettable trip to Italy, to the beautiful Lago d'Orta. We stayed in the charming town of San Giulio, at Villa Casa Elsa — and it was truly a wonderful experience. There were five of us and a small Corgi dog, and we comfortably settled into the spacious apartment. Everything was very clean, the kitchen was fully equipped for cooking, including a coffee machine — we really felt at home. The villa offers stunning views of the lake and the surrounding hills. Free parking was available nearby, which is incredibly convenient for travelers arriving by car. There’s also a cozy gazebo with a small grill and a breathtaking view over the lake — although we didn’t use it, it’s a nice surprise for barbecue lovers. The historical center of San Giulio is just a short walk away. In the evenings, it’s amazing to stroll through its narrow old streets, take in the charm of the old town, enjoy the lake views, have dinner at a local restaurant, and sip a glass of good wine. You’ll also find small shops with lovely souvenirs. A special highlight was the Coffee Museum, where very welcoming people serve excellent coffee — a must-visit! One of the greatest advantages of staying at Casa Elsa is the private beach available exclusively to guests — free of charge! It’s only a few minutes' walk from the villa, and the area is incredibly peaceful and scenic. Right next to the beach, you can rent kayaks, pedal boats, or SUP boards. The host, Laura, was extremely kind, welcoming, and always available if we had any questions or needed assistance. Without a doubt, we’ll stay at Villa Casa Elsa again on our next trip — and we’ll recommend it to all our friends and family!

Great place to go hiking or to explore small Italian villages (including shopping tours!). The larger Metropolitan areas are just an hour drive away. Lago d'Orta is less touristy than the other lakes and that makes it perfect for experiencing true Italian lifestyle. We will be back!

Hotel San Rocco is gevestigd in een gerenoveerde klooster uit de 16e eeuw dat aan de oevers van het schilderachtige Ortameer ligt. The best hotel , reception!!! Breakfast!!! Location !!! Rooms!!!! All super , a presto Cari Amici !!!!

Hotel Bocciolo bevindt zich in Orta San Giulio, op 1,5 km van de Piazza Motta en op een steenworp afstand van de oevers van het Ortameer. U kunt van een maaltijd genieten in het restaurant. It was so good! The hotel is beautifully located, the room is very comfortable, everything is well thought out and arranged, and the breakfast is varied and delicious. The staff is always willing to help. The hotel restaurant is also very good with excellent food and good service.

Hotel L'Approdo biedt een privéstrand en een prachtig uitzicht op het Ortameer, en ligt op slechts een paar minuten rijden van Orta San Giulio en de snelweg A26. This is a really nice hotel in a very picturesque location and it is not so touristy as some of the other Italian lakes. Everything was superb and made for a lovely break on our road trip, unfortunately it was only 2 nights . I would recommend this hotel without hesitation.
