There is a quiet and warm atmosphere in the house. We also made pleasant acquaintances among the guests present. We had dinner and breakfast in the house. We recommend it to have a complete experience and because the food is very good and well taken care of, in perfect Japanese style. We hope to have a chance to come back to Sakanomichi one day.

Caught in a snow storm, had to wait for hours for the towing service to arrive. It was a great relief to reach there. Owner is helpful and sympathetic.

A flat-screen TV with cable channels, PS2 and game console, as well as a CD player are available. The holiday home offers bed linen, towels and housekeeping service. The owner and his mother were so kind, they gave us many advice and news about the current event and matsuri. The house is a lovely japanese one with a nice view on the river. It was very big and comfortable for our family. All necessary equipment (bath, laundry, towels, kitchen..);and also nice gifts 😁. It also work like a small conbini as you can buy noodle, drinks whatever you need in the house.

Good price, and free parking at the house.

Really loved the stay at Private House Takayama – it felt like a home away from home. The place was very clean and had a very well-equipped kitchen which made our stay particularly enjoyable as we were able to make our own meals. (There is also a washing machine and dryer). The location is very convenient with sights, food options and supermarkets within walking distance. The hosts were highly responsive and provided very clear and useful information to ensure a smooth stay, including guidance on parking. We look forward to staying here again on our next visit to Takayama.

The house was was advertised and all the instruction was very clear. The parking though not on site was was a very short walk and easy to locate even though we came when it was snowing. The house came with a snow shovel for the car which was a god send as we have thick snow the night before we check out.

The 4-star ryokan features river views and is 47 km from Hida Minzoku Mura Folk Village. The ryokan offers rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. The Ryokan was maintained exceptionally well. We got to try local foods that we've never tried before. The hosts were very friendly and kind. They had private onsen.

Reopened after renovation in 2022, Auberge Hidanomori is situated in quiet hills, a 10-minute shuttle ride from JR Takayama Station. The property offers free WiFi access in rooms and in public areas including the shared TV lounge and the terrace. The food and experience is phenomenal for the price paid. Please take the dinner and a few glasses of wine - the host is exceptional with pairings and the food is unimaginably good. The bath even though shared is also very nice with a full onsen vibe. Everything in the building has very obviously been meticulously thought through.

It features Japanese-style hot-spring baths and free bicycle rental. Free WiFi is available throughout the property. Onsen is great. Staff are very friendly. Traditional japense room was comfortable . Location is great. We did not book with meals included.
