The tatami rooms were very comfortable, the onsen was great, and dinner & breakfast was a delicious kaiseki feast. The owner was also kind enough to drive us to the ski resort nearby. Highly recommended!

A recently renovated villa set in Numata, 一棟貸し別荘 mitt house inn features a garden. This property offers access to a balcony, table tennis, free private parking and free WiFi. Everything. The house is spacious and beautiful. Every need was addressed, they even left us a fresh apple juice in the fridge and a welcome note. Rooms were huge and the beds were really comfortable. The kids enjoyed playing with the toys 🧸 and to jump on the small trampoline outside.

Asama Kuzanbo is located in Naganohara, 38 km from Honmachi Machiyakan and 44 km from Usui Pass Railway Heritage Park. Overall Scenery: We greatly enjoyed the view of the villas. Mount Asama was majestic, and the sunrises and sunsets were stunningly beautiful. At night, the lighting was fantastic, especially the area lit up to resemble dandelions near the Sky Spa. Cuisine: The staff were very professional, so the meals were ready while we were chatting. The complimentary drinks were all delicious, and the quality of the meat and vegetables was top-notch. The ravioli and sausages for breakfast were also exquisite. Lounge: We thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance of the interior and the art displayed. The books and photographs provided great conversation starters, and the alcohol flowed, making for a delightful time. Sky Spa: The atmosphere of the open-air jacuzzi was excellent, and we thoroughly enjoyed the view.

Situated in Nakanojo, 49 km from Naeba Ski Resort, Shima-Onsen Toshimaya features accommodation with a hot spring bath, a hot tub and a public bath. This was a tastefully designed, classy yet friendly ryokan. My room was Japanese traditional with tatami floors. Every item in it was beautifully designed. My own private hinoki bath on the balcony had a breathtaking view of the hillside and stream below, and the entire time I enjoyed the sound of the water flowing. The food was very good, they served a beautiful kaiseki meal that went on forever (it seemed). At the cafe, they served their house blend coffee called Mori-no-coffee which I enjoyed while sitting in one of their comfy chairs with an art book on my lap. The staff was courteous and nice too, it was truly a perfect day.

Situated in Shibukawa and only 46 km from Usui Pass Railway Heritage Park, Ikaho Syusuien features accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. Great view on the mountains from my room. Close to the stone steps of Ikaho. I also enjoyed the onsen, the one in the evening and the other in the morning.

Located within a 5-minute walk from JR Takasaki Train Station, Hotel 1-2-3 Takasaki offers accommodations with free wired internet access. Accidentially booked a smoking room. It was not a problem to change to a non-smoking room at the woman only floor. The floor was very woman friendly with free woman products (hairband, eye mask, comb etc) and a extensive assortment of badproducts. Breakfast was oriental style. There were free drinks on the second floor, but also vending machines.
