We were greeted warmly by the staff and we felt very welcome. The style of the rooms were very nice and it was very clean and tidy. We especially liked the coffee, and the other local drinks, which were provided. There was a speaker next to the bed and the wifi was very fast. We particularly liked the beds, which were quite big (bigger than we are used to in Japan). We were sad we could only stay for one night but its a great stop when you are cycling the Shimanami Kaido!

Housekeeping and presentation are flawless, and the atmosphere throughout the property is serene and elegant. The food is outstanding, from breakfast all the way to dinner. Each plate showed great care, quality ingredients, and fantastic balance of flavours. The sommelier is superb: extremely knowledgeable, with thoughtful pairings and explanations that elevate the entire dining experience. Unequivocally outstanding !!

Small ryokan but BIG on warm hospitality from arrival till check out. When we couldn’t find any eating places open, we asked at last minute if we could still get dinner from them. Not only did they acceded to our request, they whipped up a very sumptuous meal within a short time. The meal was so value for money

The room was very clean, spacious by Japanese standards, and offered serene traditional atmosphere blended seamlessly with modern conforms. There was a terrace with a beautiful view adding on to the comfort of the room. The dinner was traditional Japanese-style and for sure it should not be missed! The multi-course kaiseki meal was beautifully presented and very delicious, including fresh, local, seasonal ingredients. The hotel's location is good for visiting the Itsukushima Torii (Water gate) as it is just one station away from it but at the same time away from the madness of the island.
