Opened in April 2017, Hakone Kowakien Tenyu offers Japanese-style rooms with tatami flooring, an open-air bath or ceramic open-air hot springs bath made with Shigaraki pottery. The landscapes were amazing, the open air onsen was an incredible experience. We enjoyed the enlightened small garden at night!

Hakone Suimeiso is located a 3-minute walk from Hakone Yumoto Station and a 15-minute walk from Sounji Temple. It offers public hot-spring baths, free parking on site and free Wi-Fi access. Everything was so nice, the ryokan was clean, close to the station and the staff was so kind. The private onsen was so pretty and having a morning bath on our own balcony was relaxing. The traditional japanese meals were amazing and the futons were good to sleep on. Extra thank you to Sachiko-san for taking care of us.

Situated in Hakone, 14 km from Hakone-Yumoto Station and 37 km from Shuzen-ji Temple, NEW OPEN『天然温泉』芦ノ湖畔の完全貸切別荘 offers a garden and air conditioning. We were 4 persons, there was enough space for all of us. The house was clean and easy to access. Since it’s winter, it’s cold inside the house but there are a lot of blankets and AC to make up for it. There is a big parking area that is free. The bathroom has a small onsen, so it smells a bit like sulfur inside the house. We loved this accommodation.

12 km from Hakone-Yumoto Station, YUPOPPO Hakone is a recently renovated property situated in Hakone and features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. The private onsdn was fantastic. The owner gave us handmade cake when we arrived. He was super nice and his son very cute We have a lot of relax. The room was super clean and the futon were super comfortable. He also provide us with yukata.

Located in Kawasaki, 5.3 km from Omori Hachiman Shrine, SAKE Kura Hotel 川崎宿 provides air-conditioned rooms and a bar. We stayed four nights and used it as a base to get to Tokyo, Yokohama and Kamakura from there. The room was a lot bigger than the typical Japanese hotel rooms. There are no windows, so it's always dark in the room, which is OK for when you get back and just want to go to sleep. A bit odd not knowing if the sun is up in the morning through. The bathroom was huge! And the bath was also a jacuzzi. Nice and quiet area of Kawasaki that is not too far from the train station (both for JR as well as the train from Haneda). We arrived early at Haneda (landed 5.30am). We got to the hotel by 8.30am, and Sou who welcomed us there was happy to store our luggage (check-in as usual for most hotels in Japan is 3pm). We went straight to Tokyo and got back at 8.30pm. At that stage the luggage was in our room, and we could help ourselves to the Oden and Sake. The breakfast was simple, two onigiri, a bowl of miso, coffee, juice AND sake available too. There's a laundromat just across the road. Overall we enjoyed our stay there. It's nice staying in Kawasaki, away from the busy Tokyo.

WeBase Kamakura is a resort hotel and restaurant in the ancient capital of Kamakura, one minute from the Shonan sea and one hour from the city. Beautiful Hotel. Clean. Staff very inviting. Close to the water & beach.

Set in Hakone’s natural beauty, Gora Kadan is located a 5-minute walk from Gora Station on the Hakone Tozan Line. Guests can leisurely soak in the hot spring bath, relax with a massage treatment. Absolutely luxury place from the beginning to the end - beautiful location, customer service, comfort, facilities, and kaiseki dinner plus breakfast - top notch. Public baths (separated by gender) spacious, having both indoor and outdoor hot spring “pool”. Amenities - highest quality. All in all - this place belongs to top 10 onsen places in Japan. My recommendations.

Luonnon ympäröimä ryokan Senkyoro sijaitsee Hakonessa. Majoituspaikassa voi rentoutua terassilla ja kuumalla ulkolähteellä, jolta on näkymät vuorille. Aulassa on ilmainen WiFi. Onsen experience was superb. Breakfast was excellent and full of variety and taste.
