Everything about Casa Gitana is exceptional - from the staff/management, to the location, rooms and bar and pool area. Like many others staying here, I kept extending my stay as it was so perfect. I stayed in a number of different rooms and loved all of them. The atmosphere created by the staff/management and guests is unmatched. Special shoutout and thanks to Noe and Martin for their exceptional hospitality - they make you feel like you’re in a home away from home. Likewise the owner Juan-Mi who was very generous and helpful.

Hotel Casa Acueducto - Lujo Cultural is located in Oaxaca City, 9.4 km from Monte Alban and 45 km from Mitla. One of nicest accommodations we stayed in during our Mexico trip! Rooms were clean and very modern. The stuff was super nice and helpful, facilities were really good, too - you could enjoy good free coffee, tea or drinking water 24/7. Sunny terrace and a colourful, safe neighbourhood was just another plus. Highly recommended!

Boasting an open-air bath, garden and views of city, Utopia Casas Boutique is situated in Oaxaca City, 11 km from Monte Alban. Reserving Utopia Casas Boutique was the best decision we made on our honeymoon. From the moment we arrived (I read a review mentioning the road, which is not an issue - if you know how to drive, you'll be fine. Or use Rangel, their trusted taxi who makes it easy with friendly service and a great price). We were blown away by the commanding view on top of the mountain. Peaceful, serene, Utopia provides an immersive experience in nature with every amenity well thought out. The design of the homes showcase the sea of mountains surrounding Utopia, while also providing an aerial view of the expansive city below. Every view is spectacular - sunrise, afternoon, sunset and evening. The amenity list is complete! The pool, oh the pool, it is amazing! Imagine soaking in a warm pool / jacuzzi, overlooking birds soaring in the valley, appreciating the mountaintops and all the beautiful exotic flora around you. While we didn't utilize the volleyball court, it looks like it would be a lot of fun with family or friends! The garden has Madagascar palms (my favorite!), succulents and a variety of cactus! The hammocks in the garden provided a tranquil escape for my wife while I kept busy navigating trails and did I mention the pool? Paradise found. The staff was amazing - Magaly, Humberto, Laura and Samuel were all extremely attentive, helpful, thoughtful and pleasant in all of our interactions. Thank you Rafael and Family, for creating such a special place. I cannot wait to return!

Samora Luxury Resort has a restaurant, outdoor swimming pool, a fitness centre and bar in Santa María Colotepec. Beautiful property, the gardens are immaculate and well kept, very peaceful atmosphere. The pool is the standout feature and it’s stunning. The location is on a private beach, amazing sunsets - it’s about a 30 min taxi in to the town but once at the resort you won’t want to leave!

Well set in the Oaxaca Historic Centre district of Oaxaca City, Casa Ziña is located 45 km from Mitla, 400 metres from Oaxaca Cathedral and less than 1 km from Santo Domingo Temple. We really liked the design, as well as the cleanliness and scent of the place, which you notice as soon as you enter. Everything was spotless, and the amenities were very nice. The extra robes, sandals, and shopping bag offered for use during your stay were a thoughtful touch. We enjoyed the welcome mezcal and the friendly staff. Communication was great, and the little city guide with recommendations was very well done. It would be nice to add an online map in addition to the printed maps they provide. Our small private patio was perfect to use at night, and while we didn’t get a chance to try the pool or bar, they looked lovely. Everyone was very kind, especially Ivan and Rebecca, who were amazing.
