Situated in Vila Nova de Milfontes, 1.4 km from Patacho Beach, Quinta do Canal features accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a terrace. Incredible stay! I had the double room with terrace, which was so big, comfortable and really nicely decorated.

A recently renovated guest house in Selmes and within 35 km of Alqueva Dam, B&B Casa da Ponte Selmes Vidigueira features pool with a view, comfortable allergy-free rooms and free WiFi. A hidden oasis gem in whitewashed Portuguese village. The owners, Anouk and Dennis, a Dutch couple are so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. The 2 rooms are self catering but for a small price a very tasty continental breakfast is available. Our ‘room’ consisted of a huge bedroom with very comfortable super king bed leading to modern fully equipped bathroom with wonderfully powerful shower. There is also a sitting room and further twin bedroom upstairs. Outside is a salt pool, expanse of grassy area (good place for breakfast) with shady trees. There is also a very well equipped shared kitchen for both rooms. Wonderful place, we had a great time. Thank you.

Set in Ferreira do Alentejo, in a historic building, 48 km from Flour Museum, SOLAR DOS FRADES is a recently renovated guest house with an outdoor swimming pool and spa and wellness centre. Two weary cyclists arrived for one night. We were delighted! Ines—one of the owners— is warm and welcoming. Our room was splendid—comfortable, lovely, overlooking the beautiful pool. Breakfast was perfect—obrigado Patricia! We liked this beautiful Solar ( a former school where Ines was a schoolgirl—how cool!) so much that we stayed one more night! My friend left for work in Lisboa and I stayed for a third night! One night turned into three because it is so delightful! I have cycled 94,000+km around the world and have stayed at well over 1000+ hotels around the world on every continent except Antarctica—Solar Dos Frades is one of the best! Obrigado Ines! Very tranquil and beautiful property surrounded by green and with ample space to unwind and feel comfortable. Use of large well equipped community kitchen was very helpful. Our hosts Leny and Jerome were brilliant and couldn’t have been more kind and accommodating! What a lovely little family (with little Edouard) who work incessantly to maintain the property and make the experience very personable and comfortable. Excellent breakfast with homemade cakes and crepes, plus other savory items plus a glass of fresh pressed orange juice.

Situated in Portalegre, 400 metres from Portalegre Townhall, Portalegre Palace features accommodation with a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a shared lounge. The Staff are awesome. There was no fridge in the room. But I soon found out they run an honesty drinks supply from the kitchen Beer soft drinks wine and even spirts all you do is record what you take. It like Ben at home. If you are in this area you need to stay here

Boasting air-conditioned accommodation with a patio, A Janela Do Castelo is situated in Monsaraz. Featuring luggage storage space, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. The road getting to the property was a little tight but the location was unbelievable. It is right next to the castle with wonderful views out every window. The yard was also very inviting and private. It was December, so we didn't get to enjoy the yard (and we only stayed one night). There is even a laundry room accessible via the yard. The beds were comfortable including the day-bed adjacent to the living room. It was a lovely place with a lot of character and charm.
