The staff were amazing, the breakfast was fantastic! The spa, pool etc. were so clean and we appreciated how quiet it was while taking a hot jacuzzi.

Beautiful and quiet. The suite was fantastic with a lovely living area upstairs with its own private balcony. Beautiful place.

Wow, this place is such a nice little oasis in Alentejo. Nice garden, pool, and hot tub. You can tell the owners really put a lot of care into fixing the place up. All of the little details are well thought out. The owners Dennis and Anouk are very nice and friendly. The beds are comfortable and the shower has lots of hot water with good pressure. Highly recommend paying for the breakfast. Can't wait to come back

Ines—one of the owners— is warm and welcoming. Our room was splendid—comfortable, lovely, overlooking the beautiful pool. Breakfast was perfect—obrigado Patricia! We liked this beautiful Solar ( a former school where Ines was a schoolgirl—how cool!) so much that we stayed one more night! My friend left for work in Lisboa and I stayed for a third night! One night turned into three because it is so delightful! I have cycled 94,000+km around the world and have stayed at well over 1000+ hotels around the world on every continent except Antarctica—Solar Dos Frades is one of the best! Obrigado Ines! All the windows have mosquito nets which is amazing for people who tend to get bitten while sleeping :) Host Jerome makes you feel really welcome, it’s a very warm and loving family, always around and happy to help. It’s very close to the village, which makes it easy to shop and have dinner at restaurants. Very safe and entertaining for kids to play around free.

Gorgeous house, retaining loads of old features, very clean and very well equipped with everything you could need. Dolce Gusto coffee machine. Perfect location with a stunning view of the castle from the house and patio. You can park right at the front door from 6pm until 11am. The owner was very nice and extremely responsive and helpful.
