Excellent stay in proximity to all important city attractions, metro station, shopping area and the forbidden city. The staff was very friendly, breakfast rich and all the necessary amenities included.

The location, the facilities brackfast

We have stayed at many so-called 5 star accommodations in China, but this is the first hotel to actually deliver. Staff throughout the the entire facility were solicitous, helpful, and smiling. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, with many items made fresh to order and brought to the table. Staff were fantastic at the buffet rapidly supplying anything we asked for, and doing so with a smile. The rooms were fantastic: beautiful decor, lovely bathrooms, luxurious linens and all of it suffused with the rich fragnrances of Aesop toiletries. The spa and locker room facilities were clean and well supplied--the steam room was a wonderful treat. We were even able to enjoy a few minutes in the pool with no swim lessons! We are not really lap-swimmers, but enjoy a good dip, and have found ourselves frowned at in most Chinese hotel pools (pools are apparently for exercise, not fun!). Note to expats: BJ has a strict mandatory swim cap rule. Friendlier hotels will offer swim cap loans to foreign guests (not so friendly ones force you to buy caps if you want to swim--kids and adults alike!), but the Waldorf was kind enough to say nothing, allowing us to swim capless (imagine! The freedom!). Finally, hooray for massage therapist Angela, she was magnificent--a true luxury experience!

The location is perfect, if you like to walk it’s easy to go everywhere and if not, the subway station is just a minutes far.

Excellent location Very helpful staff Two staffs, Zhang yong Gang and Du Chun Hong who attend to our rooms are really helpful. They made our stays so much more enjoyable and comfortable.

The style and small size of property were perfect. The location down a tree-lined hutong was not only quiet it gave a glimpse of everyday life passing by. Importantly, the location provided easy access to the old city centre. Guests have access to a huge kitchen and cold and hot drinks are in abundance. The staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Central location to the Forbidden City, subway, great food, and shopping. Amazing service from the staff, and morning breakfast was a feast.

The hotel was excellent—very new, clean, and modern, with great facilities. I especially loved the hair dryer! The airflow was really strong, so it dried my hair very quickly. The location was also great. It’s only about a 100-meter walk to the subway entrance. There’s a congee restaurant right across the street that opens as early as 6 a.m., and there’s a large supermarket on the other side, which was very convenient. The reception staff were polite, friendly, and very attentive. The room came with four complimentary bottles of drinking water every day, and there was also free water and snacks available in the lobby downstairs if you wanted more. The hotel smelled really fresh and pleasant, and there was absolutely no smell of cigarettes. There’s also a shared laundry room, and the washing machines looked very new and well-maintained. When we checked out, the hotel even gave us a little souvenir, which was such a lovely and thoughtful touch. Overall, we were very impressed with our stay!

Luxury, friendly staff, location is perfect walking to Wnagfu street

Because it's tucked away in an inner courtyard, it's very quiet even though it's centrally located. We also appreciated that the rooms didn't smell like smoke, which we experienced at other hotels (despite booking non-smoking rooms). Service and breakfast were very good, too. Would definitely stay again.

Friendly & professional staff, they quickly take action whenever you need help and made sure we were happy and satisfied all the time.
