Do not get led into a tea ceremony with so called students. They are not students and the yes ceremony will cost you a fortune. We had to push our way out of a small house and run to get away from the people and the students.
Go really early in the morning regardless or buying a ticket online or not. I bought a ticket online which wasn’t much use at all because you still have to line up with everyone and there is no order to the cues, just everyone for themselves. There should be a line for online tickets.
RMB30 per adult. Kids under 120cm FOC. The Hop in Hip off city tour bus not providing this FOC... Instead, I got FOC tea break set. So please be warned. Luckily the tea break set was great.. although not Yu Garden entrance
Yu Garden is an historic shopping precinct centred on a lake/ garden. Beautiful architecture and old style buildings. Take the time to dine in an old tea house. And shop in the hundreds of small stores.
Shanghai Campanile Bund Hotel was just about perfect: walking distance from the Bund, People’s Square and Yu Garden, clean and convenient room, friendly and helpful staff (call for airport taxi, etc.), delicious breakfast plus easy walk to the metro. I highly recommend this hotel.
The room had a view of tall buildings in Shanghai. The bed was comfortable and breakfast was plentiful. The hotel feels remote for accessing sites other than Yu Garden.
the location is really good. it is just 2 mins walk from nanjing road, 25mins from the bund. very close to other tourist places like yu garden, shanghai museum etc
