My daughter is a huge F1 fan, so we made a detour to the Mercedes museum. Full of rich heritage and interesting history. I learnt a lot about the name and the three Gents Herr Maybach, Benz & Daimler and the build up post the war years. Also as everyday is a school day, I was astounded of the size of the cars from the early part of the 20th century. I always assumed that cars have got bigger over the years, so was happy to be proven wrong with such stunning beauties Mercedes produced. Worth a good hour or two as part of your visit to Stuttgart.
Fascinating! informative, beautiful. Make sure you have a few hours to take in everything, read all the information, go crazy taking pictures. Definitely leave with a lot to think about. The ride was over priced and disapppointing
It's the best museum I have ever visited in my life. Either you love museum or car, please spare at least half of the day there because there are many things to see and lots of interesting information to know. I planned only 3 hours, but unfortunately this was not enough. I needed to be in a hurry at the end of my visit as the museum was going to close.
A wonderful trip through time linking the development of Mercedes cars and the brand with historical events. A wonderful collection of cars and the building itself is worth s visit in its own right. Unmissable!
They have lockers for bags which you have to use. It looked like there were not enough, so, if you don't have to bring a bag/small backpack etc, don't. They do have a cloak-room for coats. Check that your free audio device works before you depart from the Reception on to the lift.
A sanctuary and a must for car lovers, incl. kids (I would say above 10). Devote at least a half day, the exhibition is very big. The world's first 2 automobiles are exhibited, one is original, one is replika. (the other original is in München somewhere). Excellent racing section, incl. truck racing. Good audioguide, however join a guided tour if You can.
Hotel staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, both at reception and at the breakfast. Tea and water available in the room was sufficient, and a 24-hour tea/coffee/water bar at the reception desk was appreciated. For attending events at either the Mercedes-Benz Arena or the Porsche Arena, the location is perfect. The Mercedes-Benz museum is a mere 5-10 minute walk away, and a great mix of cars and human history. The Wilhelma Zoo is only 5 minutes away by car, and well worth it for families.
