So many shops were offering 50-70% off sales! With the Pound already at a discounted rate I'll bet tourists couldn't believe the high quality bargains! I noticed a few filling suitcases. Picked up some bargains myself from nearby Regent Street.
Selfridges a good shopping experience, with some great shops off Oxford street, but some are expensive in New Bond Street, so only visit them if you’re prepared to buy very good quality, luxury goods.
Tip: relax and enjoy the crowds! Enjoy the excellent window shopping, then head to Great Poland Street for the best fish and chips in town, at the Golden Union. Top shop for me is Liberty London. Carnaby Street is right off Oxford Street and is adorable.
Bring your best walking shoes,Stop for lunch or afternoon tea in marks and spencers , you will be happily surprised and then shop till you drop... try Primark for great priced items a british surprise gem.
I was travelling to a visa centre and this was a convenient location for that and as a bonus it is on the Thames. The Covid-19 management was excellent and managing to make you feel both safe but not encumbered by lots of rules and administration. If you enjoy walking as I do - then you can walk along the river or down Oxford Street via St Pauls if you want to avoid the tube. The apartment was spotless and comfortable, I was very happy for the night and slept very well.
I liked the location, a 7 min walk to Lancaster Gate Station, where the central line goes directly to the heart of Oxford street in 15 minutes. The decor is peaceful and calming. The room size is great, most of hotels for the same price would have tiny rooms. The tea/coffee making facilities, water bottles and cookies were a sweet touch. The best thing about The Signature Townhouse was the staff is especially amazing, namely; Ciny, Alex, Andrei and Kashik.
One block from Oxford street near Marble Arch, the location can't be beat. The room was spacious, which is surprising for London. For a decent price, we had a room for us and a connected, separate room (a living room with pull-out couch) for the kids, and even a small kitchen and dining table. The bathroom had been recently updated, the bed was exceptional.
location location location! it's right next to hyde park and its a 15 mins walk to Oxford street. The lobby area was nice and the staff was super lovely and helpful. The moroccan/Spanish girl at reception was the nicest I have ever met in a hotel reception ever! Bed was comfy and the room was clean.
Excellent off-West End location in leafy, relaxed Bloomsbury but only a 15-minute walk to Oxford Street and Covent Garden. Efficient, friendly and attentive service. Because the hotel was quiet we were given free upgrades to executive rooms, which were well kitted out, with good wifi
Great location (3-4 minute walk from Piccadilly and 10 minutes from Oxford street) and a really nice flat, very friendly hosts and at a very fair price, there is also a car park 1 minutes walk away if you need to park your car.
Perfect location, Buckingham Palace, Oxford street and National History Museum - All in Walking distance. Hyde park is like on different planet, there are bo hussle or rush, it is ideal to relax or have a nice week.
Amazing location right in Central London with 2 mins walk to Hade Park and 10 mins walk to Oxford Street. Room size is very good and very friendly and helpful staff. Dilip at reception was very friendly and supportive.
If you want to do some shopping, but want to avoid the crowds, you should stay away from Oxford Street and Portobelle Road on Saturdays. Take a trip to some of the boroughs outside the city's centre and discover the local atmosphere. Ask someone in a shop or the staff at your hotel, if you need a few suggestions for a good day out away from the crowds. I usually ask them where they go for a day out.
you have all kinds if shopping from all the big chain stores found on oxford street to the markets and vintage stalls in camden town, also carnaby street for a something a little bit different
Plan your trip and staying in details. Do a little research what are the busiest times/days. Skip using tube/buses unless you really have to. Avoid the busiest shopping/tourist areas (there is much more to London than Oxford Street and Trafalgar Square).
Close to major shopping areas like Covent Garden,Regent Street and Oxford Street
Shop anywhere except Oxford Street as there is a heaving mass of humanity.
You can find a lot of various useful things for every taste and purse all-over London and especially at the Oxford street of course
