Francis Hotel Bath - MGallery is located in the heart of the historic city of Bath. Location was excellent, easy walk to shopping and famous sights.
Well worth going to Pulteney Bridge, it’s very old with lots of shops and cafes. Also you visit the Victoria Art gallery as well. It’s worth going there just to see the weir and there are some gardens and river path you can walk along
We got some stunning photographs of the bridge, busted the bridge shops n had tea in the little tea room on the bridge! Watched the seagulls wash n drink from the river! Spectacular views and experience n free to look!!
There are a few really wonderful stores but the rest are a bit average. The tearooms are staffed by really friendly girls but the rooms are tiny and crowded. If you get there at opening, you might get a tiny table by the window.
Head across the bridge in the evening and take a stroll down down Great Pulteney Street. In the day The Holbourne Museum at the far end of the street is brilliant. Free entry aside from the exhibitions on the top floor staff are all volunteers but very knowledgeable and only too keep to pass that knowledge on but only if you want it. Brilliant Coffee shop with great coffee and awesome cakes on the ground floor. Also with a garden for al fresco dining.
Slight exaggeration to compare it with famous bridge in Florence, but ... it has it's own charm. Rather lovely to sit in a tea room on bridge on a hot day in late spring and enjoy lovely views and a delicious cream tea. Looks great in photos and it is also a good place to take photos. Don't miss the river walk nearby.
Had tea & cakes in the small cafe on the bridge, very lovely & enjoyed the window seat we got. Also ate in the cafe down the stairs, to the side of the bridge, the staff were lovely, the food was quite pricey but fresh & tasty & it was worth it for the overall atmosphere & pleasure we had, sitting there eating & looking out at the water & the view across to the buildings on the other side.
The location was perfect, such an easy walk over the Pulteney bridge and into town! Loved the gorgeous building with the high ceilings and the decor was very tasteful. Impeccable service from all the staff and covid guidelines followed completely down to the sanitised pen we used to sign the check in. 10/10 would stay here again if I came back to Bath!
The room had what we wanted for self catering, it is in a very good location for the city centre, and for us a good position to easily enter and leave the city. Some restaurants nearby on walking into the centre, and there is a Waitrose just over the Pulteney Bridge on the right hand far side for provisions.
Location was superb for exploring the centre of Bath without needing the car. It was a 10 minute walk to the Abbey and Pulteney Bridge. Very relaxing setting overlooking the River.
Very well done upgrades to an old Victorian style row house. Great location near the Pulteney Bridge - walk to everything in Bath.
