Lovely people at the front desk, comfortable rooms, and great value for the price. Not too long of a walk from the train station but it is a walk. I only had a backpack so I didn’t mind, but plan ahead if you’ve got lots of bags. Also a short walk to the football and the main part of town, very well located.

The bed was comfy, the grounds were pretty and well kept and the staff was Exceptional! The breakfast spread was nice, but I'd skip the restaurant if you're looking for a nice dinner. Super bland food.

The staff was very friendly and there were some very nice common rooms where you could sit and visit or have a drink or have some dinner. We liked the historical nature of the pub hotel. The other thing we really enjoyed was taking a bus to Llangollen and renting some e bikes. We rode them back to Chirk along the canal paths and then rode them back to Llangollen the next day. The Hand had a room where we stored the bikes overnight. We also enjoyed that there are several little restaurants and a butcher shop very close by, where we could buy some nice things.

A very enjoyable stay. The location of the hotel was excellent,beautiful countryside setting,with huge parking available. The evening choice of meals were excellent and sensibly priced.
