When we checked in, the staff show us the surrounding attractions in detail on map. Seeing we had little kid, she told us where is the play ground nearby. The check-in time is before 8 pm. Due to traffic jam we arrived late. The staff waited two hours for us. The hotel is clean, the yard is beautiful. Parking is in the same yard, very convenient. Good breakfast. Perfect location, almost on the foot of the cathedral. In the morning you can go to Dolac market (opposite to the cathedral) to buy fresh fruits.
Perfect location for exploring the sites of Zagreb. Great fun being so close to Dolac market & able to run down to procure fresh fruit for breakfast & other provisions to make meals. Maya did a great job explaining how to park and access the apartment - she made sure everything was perfect - including turning on the AC prior to our arrival so we would be comfortable in the unseasonable heat.
Jasminka was waiting for us when we arrived to give us the keys and gave us a tour of the apartment and suggested places to eat and things to see. Her pride as a host shone through! The studio apartment is a great size for 2 travelers and the location, just off the Dolac Market, puts you at easy access to most of Zagreb's main attractions.
Situated right next to the Dolac market where we could watch the morning activity without hearing any of the noise (the windows were double walled)! Quaint old elevator with manual doors add to the experience!
Get the free book and map from the information centre. Have a coffee. Either wander around the main square, the Dolac market and the Lower town. Take the funicular to see the Upper town. Take your time. There are gems around every corner.
The best places in the old town for us were Tkalcica Street, Lortscak tower and surroundings of the Dolac market and charmy Mesnicka Street.
