If its hot go early and stay later. During the hottest parts for the day site in the shade in the "snack bar" near where the boat drops you off or in the gardens under a tree. Lots of shady walks to be done. We had a refreshing swim in the area near the jetty for the boat back to cool down before heading back. Son use a snorkel to see the fish. There seems to be more fish on the south side of the island than the north near where the boat comes in.
We went to Lokrum because of the reviews we read but personally I was disappointed. The only place to lay out is on huge uncomfortable rocks / boulders. If you go take something soft like a yoga mat to lay on. I found it pretty boring so we left after an hour.
Quite nice to break away from the very full beaches in Dubrovnick. No real beach but you can easily place your towel on the large rocks and swim nearby! Try the other Islands as well - Lopum, Kolosep!
Don't get swindled by the guys selling tours at old port. The brochure we were given by Regina Maris Tours with the 2 boats on the cover...neither of those safe larger boats were the boat we went on... Having said that it was a fun day!

Fantastic hosts, I cant praise them enough! Communicating with Antonia was easy through Whatsapp and they even helped us with our luggage when we arrived. The view from the apartment was amazing, just like you see in the pictures! We had breakfast outside, enjoying those views. She even allowed us to park our car in her parking spot after the check out time so that we could visit the nearby island of Lokrum. We stayed only one night but we wish we had stayed longer. Will surely come back here if we visit Dubrovnik again!
It was excellent stay at Dubrovnik in Apartment Ragusa Palace 2 Taraca! Nice big apartment with 2 bedrooms, large livingroom and balcony. Each room has air conditioner (we did not need them at April) From balcony opens a greate view to Dubrovnik old down and Lokrum Island! The hosts were very accommodating, we could ask any questions and they responded very quickly. And you are warned - the way (Ulica Frankopanska) to apartment is not a street, it's a stairway! This is good workout after eating out to go home :)

Apartment Toma is in a super location for the old city of Dubrovnik. A couple of minutes walk and you're there; and even closer to the cable car to Mount Srd (though we walked it - a far better way to get to the top with ever changing stunning views). Comfortable bed in a large room; great shower; and kitchen was spot on. The terrace outside has nice views down to the harbour and the island of Lokrum; it's ideal for a spot of sun-bathing or chilling with a few olives and a glass of wine.

Fantastic views of Lokrum Island and the apartment was clean, comfortable with every facility you’d need. The hosts Pavo and Durda were friendly, welcoming and informative, their local knowledge and tips what to do in the city much appreciated. On our last day Pavo even drove us to the old city gate for the airport transfer which was really helpful and not expected.

Amazing view, over looking Dubrovnik & Lokrum island. Apartment was in excellent location, 15min walk to old town. Great to have our own car park. Modern apartment & furnishings. There is an original fire place & rustic dinning area to one side of the apartment. The garden was an absolute bonus, you could also enjoy the view from there as well.

Truly amazing views of the Old Town, Lokrum island and sunsets. Lovely friendly and helpful English speaking hostess. Great, spacious apartment for family of 5. The 300 steps up to the apartment didn't even put us off- it was good exercise and it is also possible to access the apartment from street level if you'd rather get a taxi.
This apartment has a perfect position: a walking distance to the beach AND the Old Town. It is spacious and has a glorious view. This time, my stay was short. Unfortunately. Next time, I will spend my hours on that balcony, sipping some good Pelljesac red vine and observing the boats, the Old Town and the Island Lokrum.

Beautiful view of Lokrum island and Dubronik. The Apartment is spacious and very clean. Our host Eva is very pleasant, polite and very helpful. They were very resourceful, specifically in carrying our luggage up and down the stairs leading to our apartment upon our arrival and checking out.

Amazing apartment not far from city center. Usually there is something you can complain about, here we didn't find even one thing. Great modern apartment with an extraordinary view on whole Old City of Dubrovnik and Lokrum island.

Staff were friendly with good english. The hotel was fairly close to the old town There was a good bus route We liked Lokrum Island We liked the dinner menu in Magellan close by. The hotel was very quiet and not intrusive
mostly rocky beaches, few gravel beaches; island of Lokrum with beaches, walking paths, parks, playgrounds and an old fortress at the top of the island; mountain Srđ gives a total new landscape after you leave the viewpoint
Old town (all of it!) - best at both ends of day when tourist groups not around. Fransiscan Monastery cloisters if you love sunlight on stone. Town walls for views. Check out Dubrovnik pass for reduced entrance fees and bus. Lokrum Island - 10 mins by boat to leafy peace (not to mention decent restaurant amongst the trees). Excursion to Elafite Islands for enjoyable messing about in boats - and a (rare in these parts) sandy beach.
It is super clean and felt very safe for toddlers to run around. In the evening people some with their creativity, like mimes and exotic birds. There is also a boat taking you to a Lokrum Island which is great to wander and swim with the kids.
Lokrum an island 10 min away from Dubrovnik presents very nice garden
The city walls, the different Palaces, the fort and the old port and Lokrum are my best memories
We really enjoy a paddle around Lokrum the guide was great and shared information about the area as we paddled around.
