Stayed for the Rinjani 100 race weekend. It seemed a little expensive, and the wall in the room didn't offer much sound protection from the room next door. But the hotel is the main race venue so location couldn't be better. The facilities, staff, food, etc were all great too. When the clouds cleared there was also a perfect view of Rinjani from the room's verandah. So despite the price and the noise I would still strongly recommend, especially for the R100 race weekend.

The host is incredible. Warm and welcoming and very accommodating. He will go out of his way to help you. Highly recommend.

Stayed at Ihab Villa in Sembalun and honestly couldn’t fault it. The people here are amazing — super friendly and always happy to help with anything. The location is perfect, with unreal views of the surrounding mountains, especially in the morning The food was spot on every time, and easily some of the better meals I had in the area. Rooms are new, clean, and really well kept, which makes a big difference after long days out exploring Hot showers were solid too (which isn’t always guaranteed around here), and everything just worked how it should. If you’re heading to Sembalun, this place is a no-brainer. Great vibe, great people, and an ideal base.

This is a brilliant place to base yourself if you want to hike Mount Rinjani. We booked Rinjani through the hotel and we couldn’t fault the service, before, during and after the trek. The staff are lovely and the rooms are very clean. As for the Mount Rinjani trek the guide and porters were amazing, the food was unbelievable on the mountain and the trek itself is the best, most rewarding activity we have ever done. We originally were only going to the Senaru crater rim 2 days 1 night, but as we got to the top we decided to carry on and summit, thanks to our guide and porters they made it possible to continue and extend our trip to 3 days 2 nights. I would definitely recommend to stay here and book the trek through Anjani Larva.

the little huts are so comfortable! sembalun is a very nice place and this stay made it even better. the view from the bed is incredeable and pancakes in bed is even better! the host even went out of their way to bring us a scooter we could rent which was so practical.

Tresno Sembalun Homestay gave us cozy, clean and calmed place to rest while trekking the mountains around. The mattress is just right, there is window on each side of the room, there is your own little table in front of the room to enjoy breakfast in private with mountain view around. The room is enough big to put your stuff out of the bagpack and there is also big garden where you can chill, dry your clothes or your camping stuff after trekking. There was no problem to leave our motorbike and other stuff when going out for 3 days. Miss Tristina and her mum are very friendly, helpful and they cook the best breakfasts ever! We also asked for a dinner and we got super delicious fish what recovered us the best after Rinjani trek :)

Hosts were super friendly and breakfast handmade every day. Rooms are simple but they have everything you need (AC, soap, toothbrush,...)

Very friendly staff, well-maintained, clean, and comfortable. Good location in the center of town. It is highly recommended to book the Rinjani trek through them—they are a very professional and organized company compared to others, with good guides and excellent organization of food during the trek. We enjoyed it very much!

Location and spec were amazing

Property was very spacious, comfortable and clean. The bed was comfortable and the hot/cold shower was great! The family were very lovely and welcoming with lots of local knowledge, and kindly arranged transport for us as we were leaving. Breakfast is included and the restaurant is open for lunch and tea too - all of the food is freshly prepared for you and is delicious! The location is great - a couple of minutes away from the Traditional Village and around a 10 minute walk away from the entrance to the waterfalls. It is a peaceful place! We didn’t hike up the volcano, but the family arranged a guide for some other guests.

Beautiful views of the rice paddy fields. Big room with everything you need. And host Mr. John has the best personality, he’s super funny and friendly and helped me with recommendations throughout my stay and helping me arrange drivers/guides. He’s super hardworking running the place and making food and helping guests all while rebuilding the lodge from the 2019 earthquake. Big respect to what he is doing.
