This place is a hidden gem! It’s surrounded by jungle with incredible views. Listening to the jungle sounds and river down below was extremely relaxing. It’s quiet and tranquil and I spent hours reading my book on the balcony. The staff were really helpful and kind. The bungalow was spacious and the bed was super comfy. Will definitely come back!

It was a great stay! The family is so super friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome from the first minute. I liked the views from the homestay and the room was also clean and comfortable. Breakfast was spot on! Really good nasi goreng with egg, coffee and little banana pancakes. I really recommend staying with this family! They are great people. If you wanna stay in Sembalun, this is a really good option for a cheap price!

Staying at Rudy Trekker Guest House was the perfect start to my Rinjani adventure. From the moment I arrived, the staff went out of their way to make me feel welcome and well cared for. The check-in was smooth, and they immediately helped me prepare for my trek with clear explanations, tips, and a genuine concern for my safety and comfort. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and quiet — exactly what you need before taking on a challenging hike. The hot shower and air conditioning were a blessing, and the bed gave me a truly restful night’s sleep. Their restaurant serves delicious local food, and the pool with jungle views is a wonderful bonus to relax before or after trekking. What impressed me most, however, was the hospitality and thoughtfulness of the team. They made sure I had everything I needed, patiently answered all my questions, and checked that I felt confident and safe before starting the climb. I never felt like just another guest; I felt genuinely looked after. If you’re planning to trek Rinjani, I can’t recommend Rudy Trekker enough. Their warmth, professionalism, and care for both guests and the mountain make them stand out in every way.

A wonderful place to stay with a stunning view. The staff are incredibly friendly and always ready to help, making the experience even more enjoyable. Just keep an eye out for the playful monkeys, they might try to sneak away with your food or drinks :)

Property was very spacious, comfortable and clean. The bed was comfortable and the hot/cold shower was great! The family were very lovely and welcoming with lots of local knowledge, and kindly arranged transport for us as we were leaving. Breakfast is included and the restaurant is open for lunch and tea too - all of the food is freshly prepared for you and is delicious! The location is great - a couple of minutes away from the Traditional Village and around a 10 minute walk away from the entrance to the waterfalls. It is a peaceful place! We didn’t hike up the volcano, but the family arranged a guide for some other guests.
