Perfect location for our 1st day road trip, arrived Kef airport 8:30am, pick up car around 11am, visited Thingvellir national park and Geysir, then go to hotel, the next morning visited Gullfoss which is 3-4 minutes' drive from hotel and continue our road trip to Vik.

Litli Geysir Hotel is on Route 35, located only 200 metres from the world famous Geysir hot spring in Iceland’s Haukadalur Valley.

The location was spectacular - right across the street from the geysirs and a 7 min drive to the magnificent Gullfoss waterfalls which allowed us to go there twice - once in the early morning before any other tourists had arrived. The hotel is sleek and modern, and the rooms were beautifully decorated and spacious. The breakfast buffet had many options to choose from - perhaps the best breakfast on our trip. The restaurant was also first rate - loved their Arctic Char and tomato soup.

First of all, I am very grateful that the hotel accommodated us very early and allowed us to check out late when we couldn’t travel due to a red weather warning. Overall, the hotel was clean and well-maintained. Breakfast had a great variety of options to choose from, which we really appreciated. A big thank you for the hospitality!

The hotel was clean and beautiful, and we especially loved the hot outdoor baths. The staff was incredibly kind and went out of their way to help us during bad weather. They made sure we stayed safe and comfortable while waiting out the storm. Overall, a great experience – highly appreciated!

Freya Farm is located in Steinsholt and features a garden. There is a terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. Guest rooms in the hotel are fitted with a flat-screen TV.

What a welcome! Ion and Karen were delightful hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. It was great to meet real Icelanders in their own home. Our room was spotless and everything was well thought out with plenty of lighting, complete blackout blinds, lovely toiletries and a view to die for! Breakfast was delicious. Most of all Ion was great to chat with and very generous with his time. It was very easy to get to the Farm, good accessible roads the whole way in - we combined our stay with dinner at the Tomato farm and a visit to Laugaras Lagoon We felt it was an authentic stay with an Icelandic family on a beautiful farm in peaceful countryside. I wish we could have stayed longer Thanks v much
