Excellent communication from the owners, caravan was exceptionally clean and tidy. Everything you could possibly want was supplied, lovely welcome pack , which was most gladly received. We did two day-trips in the full days we had staying here, one to the North and northwest, the other to the northeast. We also saw things on the way from the KEF Airport, and on our way to the next destination on the Ring Road.

We stayed in a cottage several km from Selfoss, but went into Selfoss to eat and do grocery shopping etc. The town was fine, but it's not a tourist attraction. The country itself is the attraction, and it is amazing. Selfoss is perfectly located to explore it all.

We loved everything in Selfoss.

We loved everything in Selfoss. It was a great decision pin this city for our accommodation. Not too far from either ways to reach the airport/Reykjavik or the most famous sightseeings. It was actually a better experience in comparison to Reykjavik. Somehow the main city felt to us so ordinary but Selfoss is a calmful and beautiful little city with full of helpful and smiley local people and amazing food and crafted beers. Special highlight for the Rösti Burgers, Fish of the days/Fish n chips and the Viking Beers. The crafted beers were sooo tasty and fresh which I just experienced in beer museums before. Bonus that the beach is just 10 min away by drive which was a great spot to chase the Northern Light.

Selfoss was a great location for us as we toured the southwestern coastal area and Thingvellir National Park. The 'New Old Town' is a wonderful destination while staying in Selfoss--great food choices, as well as a pub and a coffeeshop.

I read a lot of bad press about Selfoss online, as you enter...

I read a lot of bad press about Selfoss online, as you enter some of the commercial buildings are off-putting, but underneath is a beautiful village with a river, woods, perfect central location to complete all icelandic activities. The restaurant and food options have everything from fast food to fine dining. I have literally no idea why anyone would say something bad about it.

Beautiful, new, comfortable property at a superb location! Stunning surroundings, Really close to Keri’s Crater, and well-located between Selfoss and Golden circle attractions. Hosts provided excellent suggestions regarding places to visit, restaurants to eat. Everything in the property worked well including all appliances, underfloor heating and hot tub (such a pleasure to come back to a warm house after spending a day out in the cold). Love the high quality towels and bathroom slippers. Really wonderful stay and such good value for money.

This is a cozy charming hotel in what seems like a middle of nowhere. It's a type of a wooden chalet and was warm and nice inside on the contrast with cold and drenching rain outside at the time of the visit. Big bonus was the restaurant inside the hotel which was already mentioned by many here - it was a buffet and had delicious home made food I guess icelandic style (you had pay extra).

This hotel is family run with so much care, the facilities are perfect, the room was lovely and the food delicious. The hot spa pools are sensational, really made it a stay to remember. The set menu dinner was absolutely delicious and made from local produce. The hotel owners pay so much attention detail with sustainability high on their list of importances. I highly recommend.
