Great if you want a very pricey evening drink to watch the world go by - but don't order anything without knowing the price. A carafe of vin ordinaire can set you back 35 Euros, and therefore 70 if you order another without knowing what you're paying for! Be aware that the Caprese in general are out to earn as much as they can from you, and are pretty short on politeness and charm. They count on Capri being The Place to Go To and so they can charge pretty outrageous prices. So much better to go to Anacapri where it's less zhoozy and the people are real and nice and prices are less extortionate.
There's more to see than the piazetta. It's mostly always full of tourist groups at their "meeting point", people congregating after the funiculore etc. Had a brief coffee there twice (cafe casso) but I'd say move on quickly
