Hotels near Baptism Site, Sowayma

This was an amazing experience, I honestly don’t know why everyone isn’t staying here. You get to be onsite overnight, in this beautiful and tranquil setting, and have access to the Jordan River, and watch the stars. I have never slept so well or so deeply. And we even had the resident cat, Ginger, giving us the grand tour, and come to get us for breakfast the next morning 😄 The manager was very kind, and arranged for a priest in the Catholic church next door to give us a tour of the baptism site the next day (we are catholic). This was amazing, and we got a full explanation of each part of the site, and we got to spend time at each part of the baptism site. (Usually, to visit during the day, tours are only 30mins to only the main baptism part). Irena cooked us the best vegetarian dinner, and then an excellent breakfast the next morning, and was so kind. There is also tea, coffee and as many biscuits as you can eat provided! I can’t recommend highly enough!!

Staff were great and had everything ready despite booking less than an hour earlier. The hostel is right next to the border crossing which was very convenient and it was only a short walk into Jericho Town.

Staff are very friendly. The staff at the swimming pool even showed us the way to go to the Dead Sea bath behind the hotel even when the facility was closed at evening so that we can have the famous mud bath and a dip and float at Dead Sea in the morning. The outside temperature is cold but the sea temperature remains warm at 22 degree C. The staff looks after us very well and we enjoyed our stay very much. Highly highly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful view and very nice staff. Comfortable bed and room was big. Beautiful pool and private beach to the Dead Sea. Liked a lot 🤩

The kibbutz atmosphere, the peace and quiet of the desert and very comfortable and relaxed environment were fantastic. It's a great place to relax and take a break if you're visiting the dead sea or just passing through. The breakfast included with the stay was Superb as well. Great Israeli food with Tunisian flavours at the 'Last Chance Restaurant'. I would very much recommend eating there on its own as well.
