The hotel was central to a lot of amenities like shopping, railway station, etc. The room was super nice, room service excellent. After a crazy sailing on the Cook Strait ferry from the South Island, to stay at the hotel was wonderful. Was only there one night, but would definitely stay at the hotel longer next time I am in Wellington.

This is well worth a visit.

This is well worth a visit. The entrance can be tricky to find but it's a good option for all. Safe for kiddies ( no busy roads up there) and I can highly recommend it to anyone with mobility challenges, because you can have good views without needing to walk far. From memory, it's also suitable for wheelchairs but you can likely check that out on the Wellington Cable Car website. A good place to take a packed lunch with you, again on a non windy day!

Lovely old funicular railway takes you up to the botanical...

Lovely old funicular railway takes you up to the botanical gardens and space place observatory. Cafe at the top. I booked a return as my visit was in the evening, but had a wander in the botanical gardens. I would get a ticket to the top station then walk back down through the beautiful gardens.

So cool, short trip to the top but great ride, views out...

So cool, short trip to the top but great ride, views out over the cityscape to harbour are outsranding, cafe at top very popular and very busy, Cable Car Museum worth a look, also while you're up there, check out the Planetarium, not to be missed, and if you're into Gardens, take a stroll around the Botanical Gardens while you're there

A great tourist attraction for Wellington and fun for...

A great tourist attraction for Wellington and fun for children to go on. Take a ride from Lambton Quay and then walk back down through the Botanical Garden, stop at the Lady Norward Rose Garden and have a coffee at "Picnic" and the walk back to town through the old Bolton Street cemetry which graves of early settlers or wander through Thorndon.
