This is one of those drop-everything most beautiful places...
This is one of those drop-everything most beautiful places on earth. up there with Venice and Lake Como. We drove from Auckland and our room not quite ready, so we set off, caught the shuttle bus/minivan thingy, and walked to the Cove and back. There are no facilities to change into togs, but we brought a large towel that did the job of a 'changing tent'. We also had drinks and snacks in the backpack.
We saw a few people trying to dart through the gap and dodge the waves, but the tide was coming in (!) and one man bumped his head on the rock! So... either get wet, or bump your head?
The next morning, we joined a small group of 4 kayaks (booked this months ago) and paddled from Hahai Beach to Cathedral Cove. It was superb to see it from both angles; first walk, then sea.

We took the Cave Cruzer fun ride at Whitianga and visited Cathedral Cove. The ride was so fun and thanks Brian for showing and explaining to us all caves and blow hole visits around the coastal of Whitianga to Hahei.

WE went there to enjoy the beauty of the area, Unfortunately the weather was horrendous and it was impossible to get anywhere near there, there are very few facilities in the area and the few shops were just not open

Tatahi Lodge is a wonderful gem of a small resort, nestled right in the middle of the village of Hahei. Our room was clean, spacious, cozy, and well appointed. The resort is located just steps away from two great cafes, an art gallery, a boutique, and the Cathedral Cove trail.

Wonderful location right in Hahei. Minutes from the beach and local market and restaurants. Plenty of kitchen stuff. The water taxi to Cathedral Cove was a few minutes walk.

The apartment was clean, quiet, and sunny. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen was fully equipped. The clothes washer worked well and there was a generous laundry line in the backyard. Best of all, it was walking distance to the Cathedral Cove trailhead and to the shops and restaurants in downtown Hahei.

Very clean and modern. Erin was an excellent host. The property is right in the middle of Hahei with 5 minute walks to either the beach or the main restaurant and stores. We kayaked to Cathedral Cove from a location right on the beach. Very comfortable seating arrangement outside to enjoy happy hour

Perfect apartment with full kitchenette room and lovely bedroom. The location was perfect because food, drink, and beach all walkable - once you park you may not need your car. The onsite owner hosts are amazing offering tips and ensuring we were all set. They did not intrude on our privacy in any way. Regarding car, Ray directed us to a parking spot for our Hahei Explored Cathedral Cove boat trip, which as very convenient. Much appreciated. A+

The hosts were very nice to talk to as well as being very helpful.
The location is excellent. Nice trek to Cathedral Cove that you can take right from the apartment as well as short walk to town & beautiful beach.

Everything! Beautiful property. Our Hosts were more than helpful. We left some important documents there that needed to be destroyed. They were so helpful. Above and beyond accommodating! I wish we could have stayed longer. Close walk to the Hahei Beach and the Cathedral Cove.

The deck and windows had great day views and stars at night; apartment was spacious, fresh, and beautifully decorated with comfortable furnishings. The kitchen was well stocked. The location was super convenient to Cathedral Cove and Hahei Beach parking.
