CanadaSince there are no taxis in town my husband and I had such a hard time walking to the hotel from the bus station with two large suitcases. The manager Justin Ludlow stepped right up and agreed to bring our suitcases down to meet us at the bus station when we were leaving town after we had shopped and had lunch. So kind! Thank you Justin!

Quiet little town which is the start point for the cruise...
Quiet little town which is the start point for the cruise across Lake Manapouri for the trip over the range to Doubtful Sound.
Had dinner at "The Church" a very nice seafood chowder. Can recommend.

A great place to stay in the quirky retro cottage. It is easy walking distance to Manapouri facilities.
We walked through the trees by the lake to the ferry terminal for our doubtful sound cruise, very easy and enjoyable.

Very close to Manapouri centre, on the main rd but was quiet.
Was better value than staying in Te Anau and was only 15mins to get to Te Anau by car.

An amazing find in stunning Manapouri, would definitely stay again. Cabins have the essentials you need. More importantly, an incredible view out to the surrounding hills. Located only 5min drive to the Lake and centre of town, was a great spot for a swim.

We looked for a apartment/house near Manapouri and found this lovely house. Well equipped kitchen and lots of beds! There was a fast laundrymachine as well. Janice told us before that there is no grocerystore in the village, so we bought all we needed on the way. If you don’t want to cook you can always visit the local pub, located in an old church. They serve good barfood.
