Lots of atmosphere, cafes, pastry shop, beautiful Jacaranda trees, clean. Central. Safe. Lots of public transport: buses, trains, Taxi stand. tourist information centre. Banks Phone shop and other important shops for a tourist. Two large supermarkets in the area- one was a health food shop. No buskers/ beggars. Watch the cobblestones.
We stayed here and it is very central and super convenient to everything. Very touristy but we didn’t mind because there are also a lot of pirtuese there and it’s very lively and interesting. Never boring.
Very nice. Perfect place to have a coffee and sit watching people walk by. There is a great restaurant nearby that does all you can eat grilled meat with salad bar for €8. Perfect place for cheap tasty lunch. Its few doors down from Ping Doce Supermarket
Very unique in cultural. Centrally located. Near to train station. Make trip to Cintra . Then took bus all the way to see Cabo Da Roca where the lands ends and the sea begins cool. But beware it's to cold down there
How to overcome the home-sickness in Lisbon, being at Rossio. After hours of discovering colourful scenes of Lisbon, buying elegant fashion pieces, including the gloves from Lisbon Ulisses Shop, you may appreciate dinner at really Vienna style. Try to use the famous elevator, Santa Justa Lift, which connects lower streets of the Baixa district with the upper horizontal streets of this magical place. Then go down and look for the restaurant with name KaffeHaus. You will be immediately in Vienna surrounded by all that made the Capitol of Austria famous among world gurmans. They offer the Wiener schnitzel made from the beef or the veal, as you like. You naturally ask also for chocolate cake and the glass of Vienna café with the double whipped cream. You are not Home sick anymore and you can continue enjoying your tour through the city especially because the famous tramway No. 28 has its stop nearby.
Busy and colorful place. The only irritating thing is some restaurants with people trying to throw you in. They are friendly, but annoying. And such places never give value for money, wherever you are in the world.
The location was excellent, right off of Rossio Square. The room, shared bathroom and common area were all very clean. Breakfast was simple and nice. There is a cute tiny terrace on the rooftop. Some of the staff, however, did not accurately answer our questions. The staff were all very nice, but I think it is important for them to be well-trained and knowledgeable about a city/its transportation/recommendations for activities when working in reception. Overall, a great place to stay and would stay again.
Professional welcome center very close to apartment. Needed help unlocking apartment door, and a welcome rep came over to help very quickly after calling the center/concierge. Great location, nice apartment that is modernized. Close to many restaurants, train, buses, Metro, Rossio square, Paseia de Figueria. Though located on a busy thoroughfare, balcony doors and shutters helped keep most noise down to satisfactory level.
I enjoyed the breakfast especially since it was a buffet! I also appreciate that they honored my request of staying at a lower bunk bed. The proximity to Rossio Square and Praça da Figueira is amazing! I also like that it is next to a metro station so it was easy for me to get the Viva Viagem card to go around. The staff were very friendly, too! The curtains in the all-girls room are really effective in blocking out the sunlight.
The location is fantastic. We took Aerobus 1 from the airport to Rossio Square then walk 3 minutes to the hotel. The hotel is right next to Fabrica de Nata. A key card is required to enter the hotel so we felt quite safe. Our room is small but comfortable. We didn't hear the street noises with the window closed. We had breakfast in our room so can't comment on the terrace, but the breakfast was very good.
Excellent location in the hip Chiado district. Rossio train station and Rossio Square less than a five minute walk. Grocery stores, restaurants and shopping a three minute walk and an excellent fado club 50 meters up the sreet. Comfortable bed, hundreds of tv channels, nice pod coffee maker, nice washing machine, Ikea furnishings.
The hotel is located close to the Rossio square, which is very close to everything that one may want to do (places, restaurants, public and private transportation, etc). The room was very clean and quite big and the bathroom was ok. The beds were also very cosy.
The location was great..close to everything (metro station, rossio square etc) rooms were clean...the staff were very friendly..kudos to the staff!😄
Well located in Rossio Square which has all forms of transportation available. Most sights are within walking distance.
Lisbon is the perfect balance. Small enough to be walked in a morning yet culturally rich with museums, art galeries, cultural centers and theatres. It has a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere and enough antiquities to satisfy any budding historian. Generally a safe city but watch your bags and wallets as pickpockets and opportunist thieves do operate, often around Rossio and especially on the notorious number 28 tram, where the pickpockets operate in organised teams of 4-5 people. Keep your purse zipped in your bag and your bag firmly over your shoulder and you will not have any problems.
Go to Belem, visit Os Jerónimos and try the famous pastéis de Belem. A one day trip to Sintra (40 minutes bay train from Rossio station) will take you to a fairytale place.
Found the people of Lisbon to be very patient, polite and friendly. Took their time, tried to understand a problem, and give all the help they could. Easy going pace of life, a most beautiful city. Our particular thanks to Vera who worked the Lisbon Information Kiosk on Rossio Sq. her input every day was like having a personal guide. Pity the trains had to go on strike.....but then how else will they get heard!!
at the Rossio and down to the bay you have perfect time to enjoy and relax
