Things were slow to get started when the park opened at 10:00am, but by 11:00 the various costumed characters were in their places and each of them had fascinating tales to tell about the building they represented. We learned about the rebuilding of the church, weddings of the time, saw a woman baking flatbread, spoke with the glassblower and pottery maker, visited several different types of farmsteads, etc. The highlight of the museum is not just seeing the historical buildings, but also seeing them come alive with the costumed interpreters. There is also a central "square" of artisans who display and sell their wares.
It’s an interesting place to visit. Being that the place overlooks the city. You get a great view of Stockholm. Even better if you happen to visit when there is a show in their outdoor amphitheater.
the aquarium is not included in the base ticket - plan for that. be sure to take the funicular on the way up, it is a nice ride and you don't need it for going down since you have escalators on the other side of the park
Очень красивый вид на город и зверей. Но поесть лучше где-нибудь за пределами или принести с собой для пикника.
Great idea, but when we went it was in the afternoon and many shops were closed. Also most of the old houses were not open to the public, which I think would be the most interesting thing to do in the park. The zoo was not well maintained, not clean, and the animals looked unhealthy.
Take the small passenger-only ferry over to the Djurgården Island early in the morning and take a walk through the Skansen park, a real oasis with a combined botanical garden and a zoological garden with all the Swedish animals such as bear, moose, dears, etc. to see, then head over to the "Gröna Lund" theme park right beside Skansen!
