Great little place, lots to see and smell. If your a girl or group of girls you may feel a little harassed as we did but it wasn't too bad - they are just trying to get your attention so that you buy something. Don't touch anything as you might really have to buy it!
I always loved this place, i feel it is the most place that represent the real turkey spirit, culture and environment, plus it is also a great place for shopping, walking, meeting new people, having chat with different cultures..
It's fun and a great way to waste a couple hours, but nothing in there is unique (even though they will claim it is) and almost everything is cheaper outside the Bazaar so don't get ripped off.
I found some quality copper items to make Turkish coffee for a great price. It was fun, but sort of taxing-nearly impossible to actually shop without being accosted and followed by EVERYONE! Do not engage, or speak-just walk by or you’ll spend 3-4x linger than necessary there.
We visited in the New Year’s Day with a great mood. Went in a lamb leather shop with a warm welcome guy’s invitation in front of this shop. We just asked my mother in law if she like anything so I buy for her like a gift but she refused as she doesn’t want us spend money for her. One lady assistant heard our conversation and soon ask me do I want to buy anything. I was in the shop for only 2 minutes so I said I am just looking! ( of course if I saw any good design that suits me I will try it on and buy after) she then said ( you no buy she no buy why come in?) that just ruined any mood of shopping so we said we can leave if you don’t allow browse and move towards the door. This woman then pushed behind and keep repeating. I then turned and said to her she is very rude and doesn’t know anything about business. She followed us out and shouted to us “ go back to your country!” The front guy apologised but this woman kept chasing and was even trying to touch us!!! I almost called the police! The shop was in the Main Street of Grand Bazaar, near the front door!
A maze of what seems like a million of shops, cafe's, restaurant. Trillions of trinkets to drive you hypnotizing crazy. You need a ton of $$$ (LoL). Plentiful of great options. Great place to be and experience
The staff were absolutely amazing! They helped with every little thing, booking cabs, booking tours, even contacted me before my flight asking if I need a cab from the airport to the hotel. The view from the terrace was something else, you can see the Bosporus and Sultanahmet mosque as well as Ayasofya and the the hills in the distance. The location is also extremely helpful, literally 5 min walk to Ayasofya and 5min walk to the Old Grand Bazaar10 min walk to Eminönü. I recommend this hotel, you won’t regret it.
Endican Sultanahmet Hotel is Location perfectly only by 1 minute Çemberlitaş Tramway station. Endican Sultanahmet Hotel is very close to old city area. This is very close to Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar .... This is new hotel. Everything is very comfortable. İnternet is very nice. Hotel staffs are very firendly. The location is perfect just by the beautiful Galata bridge with a lot of amenities and restaurants nearby. The Grand Bazaar is within walking distance and there are plenty of ways to get to other places easily by bus, tram, or walking. The Hotel is clean, modern, and safe and the staff is super friendly! This was the second time I stayed in the Haze and I would always return!
Absolutely outstanding hotel perfectly located very close to the grand bazaar and historical sites. Many restaurants nearby. Helpful, friendly staff who go above and beyond to make sure you have the best time. Guys at the front desk are professional and efficient. Cleaning lady was great. WiFi is very good.will defintely come back again and I would highly recommend this hotel.
Hotel is located in a center of old city, it is very close to all the interest: Sultanahmet, Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque, Galata Bridge like 5 minutes walking. All staff are friendly and nice, also manager - Medeni, he was always ready to help us and answer to all questions. On the 5th floor, there is very beautiful Terrace with view of Bosphorus
The hotel itself is great, friendly staff, large bathroom, good breakfast, close to all main attractions (Aya Sofia, Basilica Cistern, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Grand Bazaar, Süleymaniye Mosque), there is a train station near the hotel and it takes less than 5 minutes to get to the pier with a fantastic view.
-Very good location; only 5 min walk from Grand bazaar, Sultanahmet Cami and Hagia Sophia but the hotel is in a calm street. -The staff is really friendly and helpful. -The internet connection was fast. - Clean and nice room with AirCon.
This hotel has one unbeatable feature - liquor store around the corner :) And of course location is great, you are a couple of blocks from Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Grand Bazaar, it's all walking distance.
Everything was great, the hotel was very clean, the location was good. its near to Grand bazaar and the blue mosque, the staff was helpful. thanks to Ilhan and his team. i hope to visit them again.
The hotel is on the center of İstanbul which is very near to all the attractions like blue mosque, grand bazaar and higha sphoia. The room was clean and nice. I recommend it to all
Grand Bazar is just for visiting not for shopping as costs are higher here. The funny thing is that everything is about negotiation in shops or on the streets. You will have a big surprise that the final price you are paying it is with 30% - 50% less. I.e. Turkish yoyo on the street is 5TL but if you offer 2.5 TL you're gone have it :) Good look.
Visit The Grand Bazaar in the evening, before closing to avoid the crowd. For the rest of sightseeing afternoon around 3-5 pm is the least crowded time.
A large number of retail stores near by Sultanahmet, Cemberlitas and Grand bazar selling genuine leather shoes, they are offering latest models and a large number of brands at very good prices.
One can experience the contrast of the 1001 night feel of the grand bazaar to the slick city state of the art shopping malls , and to an antique flea market in the French quarter . A unique city
Grand bazaar is amazing but good luck getting round without being hassled
The atmosphere. You can find most of these things in other places but not in market places with such heady atmosphere as in Istanbul. It is an experience to spend time in Grand Bazaar even if you buy nothing. Shopping areas in India, my country, are equally interesting but they tend to be dirty and full of traps like potholes and overflowing drains. Istanbul has the atmosphere without these problems. The place we liked most was Arasta Bazaar near the Blue Mosque.
