The room was beautiful, clean, and spacious with a gorgeous view over the garden. There were all the amenities imaginable in the closet downstairs (irons, toiletries, extra towels, etc), and the kitchen was stocked with quite a few items as well.
Every member of the staff that we met was helpful and friendly, and it felt genuine too.
Obviously, the location is very hard to beat, but though it's absolutely great, - everything else was even better.

Go see it up close!
Go see it up close! You can really see how tall it is and why the monument was considered the tallest building when it was first built. Didn't get to go inside, but you can sit around it (on grass or benches) and just admire the entire area. Especially on a sunny day, it is just so beautiful. Go during the day and go back during the night when it is lit up. Such a different experience - both are great!

The restaurant/bar was great but it's not owned by the hotel. Bartender Edwin is a keeper (and breakfast server Marcus was also stellar) Can you tell Divino?
The view - one window was the Washington Monument, the other was the giant Russian Consultate :)

The room was comfortable. the bed was clean and had plenty of covers. The mini fridge was large enough for my short stay of a few nights. The bathroom was clean and had good water pressure for the shower and nice linens. The TV had plenty of channels. The location was very walkable, a bit farther from the main attractions (washington monument, etc) but in a nice neighborhood (Logan Circle, Badgen Alley). The staff was very friendly and helpful with finding parking for my car. Continental breakfast was kept warm and well stocked.

The location is great for access to The National Mall and other attractions. It's right behind the Spy Museum. We were able to walk (definitely got our steps in!) to most things. The breakfast buffet is good with a lot of choices, hot and cold (was included in our stay), but pricey for breakfast. Our room was spacious, could see the Washington monument from our window.
