The Bay Harbor Lodge is 20 minutes’ drive from Everglades National Park and 8 km from Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park. This hotel has cable TV in all rooms and a seasonally heated outdoor pool. A very nice hotel offering good facilities and access to a private beach. The whole place promotes a relaxing and unrushed stay... Tamed squirrels are hopping around alongside with iguanas of various colours and sizes... super tropical and feels close to nature. The staff, particularly Jonathan, were very helpful and friendly. There's plenty of local knowledge and recommendations; I rented a push bike and had a tyre puncture (rental car) fixed on Jonathan's recommendation. Aside from all the practicalities, Bay Harbour Lodge is a little beach paradise, which is priceless.

A bit farther from the street, so no noise. Beautiful sea view from the window, though it might have looked more like a lake. The pool, although not heated according to staff, had fairly warm water, and it was nice to spend time there. 20-minute drive to Key West, which offers plenty of attractions. Free coffee service available. A restaurant with tasty food just 2-3 minutes on foot but only for dinner.
