Beautiful lodge, great hospitality and lovely staff. Breakfast is very nice.Nothing to complain about, clear recommendation. Elgin is not the easiest place to get around by i.e. Uber, but we were given the contact details of Valentine (as a private driver for the day) - super friendly, nice guy and very safe and great driver.

My room was cozy and comfortable. The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped. The property is clean, quiet and safe. Vanessa and Derek are amazing hosts, very welcoming and helpful. The nearby Botrivier Lagoon and Rooisand Nature Reserve are excellent for hiking or walking, relaxing and birdwatching.

Saxon Lodge a bed & breakfast in Gansbaai, which is known as the ideal location for shark cage diving and whale watching. I was made to feel so welcome from the moment I arrived by everyone and it was such a wonderful, relaxed atmosphere - nothing nicer than listening to the waves breaking especially at night. Ninja the cat also came to make sure that I had settled in properly. The breakfasts were great and the cooked breakfast arrived hot - the tea was also hot when it arrived. The Lodge is also central to everything and within easy walking distance.

This place feels like paradise. The mountain range, the vineyards, the well kept premises, the owners/family, dogs, cats and food are all wonderful. We had the Strelitzia house which has everything you may ever need. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen well equipped, but more importantly the place feels homey and historical. The veranda was our favourite spot day and night. Sharon, the host is very friendly and helpful. She thinks along with you and has great tips. She is available, but not intrusive. We love this place and are looking forward to returning one day.

Located 6 km from Grootvadersbosch Nature Reserve, HighlandsView provides accommodation with a garden, a terrace and a shared kitchen for your convenience. This is the perfect spot for an off-the-beaten-track, close-to-nature experience. The accommodation in glamping tents is very comfortable and each tent has an amazing view of valleys and mountains. We loved the small finishing touches in the tent. The shared kitchen and BBQ area are very well equiped. A real highlight of our stay was the walk through the indigenous forest and neighbouring nature reserve. Our hosts, Hilary and Andrew, could not have been more welcoming or informative!
