From the moment we arrived, we were amazed by the incredible care and attention to detail that has gone into restoring this historic property. The way they’ve blended the charm and heritage of the old building with elegant, modern interiors and thoughtful design is simply stunning. Every corner feels special, and it’s the kind of place where you just want to sit, take it all in, and enjoy the magical ambience. The location is perfect for exploring Matera, and the valet service made everything effortless. We left our car at their partner parking and were picked up directly, which made the whole arrival experience smooth and stress-free. Even though the hotel is relatively new, it feels like it has been welcoming guests for many years. That is a true credit to the management and the entire team, who were warm, professional, and made us feel so well looked after. The food was outstanding, the cocktails were delicious, and the whole atmosphere was romantic and unforgettable. Relais & Châteaux should be very proud to have Vetera Matera in their collection. We are already looking forward to coming back and cannot recommend it highly enough.

Attractively situated in the Sassi di Matera district of Matera, MOYSEION Matera - Immersion in a distant past is situated 600 metres from Palombaro Lungo, 500 metres from Matera Cathedral and 700... Fantastic and very unique hotel. Right in the heart and yet very peaceful. The room was quite big and had all the amenities. The unique old-style swimming pool is the best we have seen in a hotel. Breakfast was great, unique, and filling. All the complimentary experiences were designed with a lot of thought and detail.

Situated within 300 metres of Palombaro Lungo and 700 metres of Matera Cathedral, Amatera Luxury Apartments features rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Matera. Amatera Luxury Apartments (Azzuri) was fantastic. The apartment was clean and spacious and it also had a large balcony with a great view of the sassi area of town. The location was excellent, very close to the action around the centre of the old town but just outside the hustle & bustle. Nothing at all to dislike, and a lot to like 👍

Really clean, everything is new, very comfortable beds and sofa, apartment had everything we need. WiFi was fast, and we really enjoyed our time there. Free parking is in front of the apartment. Neighborhood is very nice and quiet, pizza and sweets are 2min away. It’s in the second floor. To Sassi if you walk, you need 15-20min.
