Modern & Spotless: The apartment is incredibly spacious and maintained to a "luxury hotel" standard. Every room was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and felt very cozy despite the chilly Nuwara Eliya weather. Home-Like Amenities: It is fully equipped with everything a family needs, including a full kitchen (fridge, microwave, oven, and utensils), a washing machine, and a Smart TV with streaming services like Netflix. Prime Location: It’s perfectly situated in a peaceful area yet just a short walk or quick drive from the town center and main attractions like the racecourse. Outstanding Service: A special thanks to the host, Mr. Namal, and the caretaker, Kasun, for their incredible hospitality. They were extremely communicative, helpful with local tips, and even provided heaters when the temperature dropped. Whether you are traveling with family or friends, this is undoubtedly one of the best places to stay in Nuwara Eliya. We will definitely be back!

Het personeel is erg vriendelijk en wij konden ‘s avonds heerlijk dineren bij het hotel. Mooie kamers!

Hilldale Retreat bevindt zich in Nuwara Eliya met uitzicht op de bergen en heeft een restaurant, een gedeelde lounge, snackbar, tuin, buitenzwembad dat het hele jaar door open is en terras. The staff were all so welcoming and the main concierge was super attentive and kind. When we arrived late at night, he was there and quick to get us checked in. On route, the hotel even dropped us a text to check if we required supper and if so they would keep the kitchen open. We had our own supper and the concierge who received us was so hospital and opened up the restaurant for us to dine in. He later turned on the lights and music for the billard room and foosball area too. And since there were 3 of us, when 1 of our travelling companions was using the shower, the concierge graciously offered the 2 of us a free 5min head massage by their in house masseuse (who was really good with the pressure and technique).

Everything, right from the property, room, location, surroundings, cleanliness to a very friendly staff. Our stay at Oliphant Boutique Villa by Amaya was nothing short of magical. The photos online simply do not do justice to how stunning the property is in reality—the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the beautiful surroundings, the lush gardens, and that charming old-world elegance seamlessly blended with all modern comforts. Despite delays in our check-in due to heavy rains, the staff were patiently waiting for us with warm smiles. From the very first moment, they made sure we felt comfortable and welcomed. Every member of the team was humble, polite, and incredibly respectful. A special shoutout to Laxman, who took care of us throughout our stay. His attentiveness and kindness truly made a difference. We also travelled with our 5-year-old, who is quite picky with food, yet the kitchen staff went out of their way to prepare dishes he would enjoy. This level of personal care was deeply appreciated. The food was exceptional—far beyond our expectations. I strongly recommend opting for half board or full board, because every meal was a delight. We stayed for four days and honestly wished we had booked even more. Oliphant was the standout stay of our entire Sri Lanka trip. The peaceful atmosphere, stunning views, lovely heritage charm, and world-class hospitality make it a place we would return to without a second thought. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Nuwara Eliya—Oliphant Boutique Villa is an experience you won’t forget!
