It was clean, modern, and very quiet. I was a late check-in, and reception was easy. Bed was very comfortable and the shower was very nice. While it is about 20 minutes outside Matane, it is worth the distance. I have stayed at multiple spots in town while traveling, and most are outdated and loud road noise. Motel M is in a small town and exceptionally quiet with modern appeal.

The room we had was comfortable and very nicely laid out with beautiful wood floors and trim. The view was magnificent. The sink area served as a great place to separate the front room from the bedroom. No AC, but there were fans, which were all we needed.

Motel Boutique Hygge is a motel located within 10 minutes' walk from the restaurants, art galleries and shops on St-Jean-Batiste Street. A train station and public market are also nearby. I only stayed for two nights, but I really wish it had been longer! Kerri and Philippe are amazing hosts — super friendly and helpful. Before I arrived, they sent me a WhatsApp message with all the details, which made check-in super easy. My room was small but really cozy, with a cute little desk overlooking the green inner courtyard. I also got some great tips on what to do in the area. Next time, I’ll definitely stay a bit longer!
