Best hotel experience during our honeymoon in Japan from the girl at the front desk (unfortunately I can’t remember her name but she was super nice) to the dinner. Our “room” was indeed a small apartment with a private thermal bath and a small garden.

Set in Kinosaki, 2.6 km from Kinumaki Shrine, Akaishiya 城崎温泉旅館 赤石屋 offers accommodation with free bikes, free private parking and a garden. The staffs are all friendly and helpful. The breakfast is incredibly wonderful 👍

Yumoto Ueyama Ryokan provides a hot spring bath and free private parking, and is within 15 km of Himeji Castle and 42 km of Omiya Hachiman Shrine. ulkoilmaonsen, täällä oli myös mahdollisuus saada kasvisruokaa. Situated in Toyooka, 2.8 km from Kinumaki Shrine, Kinosaki Onsen Hanakouji Saigetsu features accommodation with a hot spring bath and a public bath. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful, close to station and main baths, rooms are spacious and very comfortable, the private onsen is amazing.

Kobayashiya -Kinosaki Onsen- provides a hot spring bath, as well as air-conditioned accommodation with free WiFi in Toyooka, 2.8 km from Kinumaki Shrine. We liked the friendly and tentative staff; ones at the front desk, dinning room, and especially the one who helped each of us to put on kimonos.

Boasting an open-air hot springs bath and spacious garden, Arima Grand Hotel is located a 10-minute walk away from Arima Onsen Station. Free WiFi is available in all rooms. The onsen/bath areas were very nice. Dinner was excellent. Room is spacious and comfortable.

Kobe Minato Onsen Ren sijaitsee 5 minuutin taksimatkan päässä Sannomiyan ja Motomachin asemilta. The price is high, but you can expect a lot. The hotel rooms were great. You could choose if you prefer to sleep in big comfy western beds or prefered a Japanese futon instead (there were two rooms, so enough space to get the futons out). Maybe prepare a bit in advance, so that you know what´s going on, because the English introduction at reception is a bit shorter than the Japanese one, but the staff is always really helpful and can answer your questions. Breakfast and diner were both included and were fantastic. The sushi cook in the evening was so helpful and we tried 2-3 different sort of fish we never had before. And all the other dishes were great, too. Don´t forget to stop in time, so that there is still room for dessert ;o) The onsen on the roof is wonderful. You have an excellent night view and can see the beautiful harbour area. There is an onsen for women and one for men. First there is a big room where you undress and put your clothes in little baskets. Then there is a shower room followed by a pool, a whirlpool and the lovely onsen. And if you want to spend around 200 Yen extra, don´t forget to visit the room with the massage chairs. They are amazing.

Shinzan Kinosaki features a hot spring bath and free private parking, and is within 3.8 km of Kinumaki Shrine and 5.2 km of Seto Shrine. My expectations were exceeded! This Ryokan is absolutely beautiful and the onson is so wonderful. The food was superb as was the service. From check-in to the meal service, the staff were so friendly, welcoming and very well coordinated. The room was stunning - I stayed in a one bedroom suite and it was 5 star ( the suite is comparable to the 5 star hotels - no detail overlooked). I can’t wait to return!
