Ideally situated in the centre of Kyoto, ALA HOTEL KYOTO features air-conditioned rooms, a fitness centre, free WiFi and a restaurant. Very friendly and helpful staff. As many have mentioned, the rooms have a fake decoration window that lets a lot of light inside. The staff promptly helped us cover the window. The design of the room is also great. You have a separate toilet and sink from the shower.

In a prime location in the centre of Kyoto, Kyoto Umekoji Kadensho is within 1.7 km of Kyoto Station and 1.8 km of TKP Garden City Kyoto. The onsen was spectacular, so nice after walking around all day. The breakfast had great variety and the bathroom was nice and the room was spacious. The staff was very helpful with the luggage forwarding.

Attractively situated in the centre of Kyoto, Onyado Nono Kyoto Shichijo Natural Hot Spring features buffet breakfast and free WiFi throughout the property. Variety of onsen baths available with great facilities, loved the food/drinks available throughout the day, highlight was definately the breakfast buffet - blown away by the amount of choices and authentic Japanese food.

LIBER HOTEL Osaka features air-conditioned rooms with satellite flat-screen TV in the Osaka Bay district of Osaka. Liber Hotel exceeded my expectation. I was just checking hotels close to Universal, and this hotel popped up on Booking with super high marks. And now I understand they really deserve that mark. It's a massive hotel with lots of facilities. Highlight is their sightseeing escalator, you can see the whole Universal. Our room was facing another side and you could see the Ferris Wheel which was a such surprise for me at night time. It's super convenient since you only walk half minute from the train station to the hotel. There's also a 7-11 convenience store about 200 metres away. It's only one station away from Universal or you can choose to walk there too. It's also easy to transfer to other trains to the central of Osaka. Morning breakfast is a little bit pricy, for adult is 4400 yen and kids above 6 years old is 2200yen, but I feel it worth it since the food quality was awesome. The food was variety and fresh, so many options. The restaraunt also has a massive patio you could eat outside and enjoy the view of the harbor. For the ranking, I will give them 10/10.

Featuring natural hot spring baths on site, Onyado Nono Nara Natural Hot Spring is set in Nara, just a 3-minute walk from JR Nara Station. The location is great: just next to the station and at walking distance to the sightseeing sites. The breakfast is wonderful. The only drawback was the waiting one morning for getting access to the breakfast room.

J-Hoppers Kumano Yunomine Guesthouse is situated in Hongu, a 10-minute drive away or a 70-minute walk on the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Route from Kumano Hongu Taisha Grand Shrine. We stayed here as a stopover during the Kumano Kodo. What a wonderful stay! Great place, the common area is well-equipped, and the private onsen (three in total) is absolutely the best after a day of hiking. Yunomine Onsen is a lovely little village. Highly recommend!

Ens vam sentir molt acollits des-de el primer moment que vam entrar a l’hotel. Ens van deixar 2 Yukatas per poder anar als banys termals de tot el poble i el propietari de l’hotel ens va fer moltes fotografies per tots els racons del poble. El berenar va ser molt bo i quan vam haver de sortir cap el tren ens hi van acompanyar en cotxe. L’hotel compta amb 2 banys tipus onsen que al capvespre es poden usar de manera privada pels hostes.
