The property itself was immaculate! Huge common area, very large and nice kitchen, an outdoor terrance overlooking a river down below, and onsite Onsen (both indoor and outdoor!). The lady working reception was incredible. She was very helpful with an foot injury I had and I don't know what I would on done without her help. Hostel is immaculate! It takes about 45 minutes by subway or bus to the actual town of Nikko. If you plan on visiting Tobu World Square or any of the hiking/waterfalls north of the town, it is perfect! You get a real mountain town feel being outside of the city center.

Clean, so pretty the garden next to the river with all the birds you can imagine and the food was delicious and really traditional too, reach in protein! The outside Onsen was incredibly beautiful too and the bus literally drops you off right in front of the hotel entrance. Lastly, the hosts were so welcoming and nice.

Close proximity to kinugawa onsen station (<5 min walk), Lawson directly across from hotel, and close to points of interest. Genuinely lovely and helpful staff who can speak English. Easy check in. Spacious rooms for affordable price. And the onsen was clean, large, and had all the amenities you could need. Had it all to myself both times at 9pm, and 7am.
