Dormy Inn Aomori Natural Hot Spring is gelegen in Aomori, op 6 km van Archeologische vindplaats Sannai-Maruyama en 43 km van warmwaterbron Tsuta. We liked many aspects at the Dormy Inn Aomori Hotel, like the breakfast with many Japanese food, the larger room with twin beds (compared to the double bed rooms), the very nice Onsen bath, the very kind reception and cleaning staff.

Kashintei Shirahama bevindt zich in Senboku, op 15 km van warmwaterbron Nyuto en 49 km van station Morioka. Meals were easily the most intricate and most sophisticated of all the Ryokans I've tried. They go out of their way to showcase Akita specialties, which I really appreciate as it means I need not travel to restaurants specially to try them. They provide a private dining room and I cheekily thought to myself that this is so you can lick your plate clean! Indeed it was so delicious that if the Michelin inspectors came, I am sure they will get a star. Best service out of all the ryokans I went to - everyone is super attentive and super responsive. On the booking.com app, they were the most prompt to respond to messages. They had good recommendations for me on what I could do around Lake Tazawako and the surrounding area. Other examples of exemplary service: They took the initiative to ask me if I would like a picture with my meal (as I was a solo traveller). How delightful! Out of all the ryokans I stayed in, this is the only one who did that. Another example: they asked me if they could clean my room while I am out. This is unlike other hotels and ryokans that instead ask if I would like my room cleaned (assuming that the default is no). The room was of a most excellent layout with good separation of different areas and a good size such that it makes you feel like you are living in your own apartment and not so much a resort. The bed was also very comfortable - there is something special about the bed linens. They were so refreshing to the touch and so comfortable. At every corner there are thoughtful gestures - a little bench for you to admire a view, the tatami flooring throughout. Every effort has been made to make it a special and premium experience. Even the toilet is larger than some of what I’ve seen and has charming and tasteful decorations. I am so glad I tried out Kashintei Shirahama and hope to be back!

Historical Ryokan SENYUKAN is ideaal gelegen in de wijk Owani Onsen in Ōwani, en is gelegen op 43 km van Archeologische vindplaats Sannai-Maruyama, 17 km van kasteel van Hirosaki en 42 km van Sukayu... This place is an absolute gem. The staff, food, location and room were all exceptional. I would recommend this ryokan to anyone wanting an exceptional ryokan experience. The onsen was also fantastic and the warmest one we came across in our month in Japan.

Kameya Hotel ligt in Tsuruoka, op 3,5 km van Kamo Aquarium, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin en gratis privéparkeren. The rooms were spacious and clean. Very comfortable! The bathtub is what sold me on the room! Nice big tub with views over the ocean and hot spring water pumped directly into your bathtub! The included breakfasts were also very good, very large servings, I didn't need lunch the days I had the breakfasts. The on-site onsens were heavenly, the "help yourself" coffee station was great, and the shop had all the things I like from the hotel available to buy ( got caramel apple tea and the lovely skin sets to take home). Highly reccommend this hotel!

Ichiraku tendo spa & brewery bevindt zich in Tendo, op 30 km van skigebied Zao Onsen, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis privéparkeren, een gedeelde lounge en een terras. What a cool place! There were so many opportunities to taste the beer that was brewed locally on-site. From the drinks bar at check-in to the tasting room open all day to the all-you-can-drink plan at dinner, the hotel was really quite generous with their liquid offerings. Even non-drinkers are accommodated with plenty of alcohol-free options. We also liked that they had multiple private baths on site. The main onsen were also quite nice. The food was fantastic and the beef served at dinner was some of the best I've had.

Yuze Hotel is gelegen in Kazuno, in de wijk Yuze Onsen. De ryokan met 4 sterren biedt een gedeelde lounge en heeft kamers met airconditioning, gratis WiFi, en een eigen badkamer. The room with private onsen was great. The buffet have local cuisine and breakfast was also have a wide spread. Definitely a place for you to enjoy and relax. They also provide free ride from the bus stop to the hotel directly. You can also book a private bath directly at the hotel if the room type don’t come with it at an additional cost.

Okawaso biedt accommodatie met gratis WiFi en een restaurant in Aizuwakamatsu, op 13 km van Aizu Higashiyama Onsen. Elke kamer in deze ryokan is voorzien van airconditioning en een televisie. Zeer beleefd personeel en prachtige uitzicht zelfs vanuit de kamer. Heel veel gegeten.

Tokinenoyado Yunushi Ichijoh is situated in the Kamasaki Onsen district in Shiroishi, a 15-minute drive from Shiroishi Station and Shiroishi-Zao Station. Where to begin? The room was excellent in size and had a nice feeling to it. The onsen was close by. The staff was so kind and service minded. The whole experience with dinner and breakfast was exceptional, especially the staff member whom served us with excellent English. Just the whole experience was quite wonderful.

田沢湖水沢温泉郷セルリアンリゾートAoni bevindt zich in Senboku, op 7,9 km van warmwaterbron Nyuto en 10 km van treinstation Tazawako, en biedt accommodatie met skiën tot aan de deur en gratis privéparkeren. The room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive throughout our stay. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent with fresh, high-quality ingredients.
