Zödl

Very good, comfortable accommodation. Right next to the Römerbad thermal baths and the cable car

Some places are easy to forget the moment you leave. Others stay in your heart long before your journey is over. Hotel Restaurant Raunig is one of those rare places. Nestled in the Austrian mountains at around 1,200 meters above sea level, this charming family-run hotel offers breathtaking views, fresh mountain air, and the kind of peace that's becoming increasingly rare. The hotel is beautifully decorated in traditional Austrian style—cozy, authentic, and incredibly welcoming. After a day of exploring the mountains, the small wellness area with a sauna, infrared cabin, and relaxation room is the perfect place to unwind. We originally booked two nights with breakfast and dinner included. After our very first day, we realized two nights simply weren't enough, so we happily extended our stay for another night. We just didn't want to leave. What truly makes this place exceptional, however, is its owners. They personally take care of every detail and create an atmosphere that makes every guest feel genuinely welcome. The owner is also the chef—and what an extraordinary chef he is. Every dinner was an unforgettable experience. You can choose either the daily menu or order from the à la carte menu (some dishes require a small supplement), but honestly, even if you choose only the daily menu, you're in for a treat. Every plate is prepared with passion, creativity, and outstanding attention to detail. This wasn't just a hotel stay—it was an experience filled with warmth, hospitality, and unforgettable food. Places like this remind you that true luxury isn't measured by the number of stars a hotel has, but by the people who put their heart into making every guest feel at home. Thank you for making our stay so special. We will definitely be back. ❤️
