We were looking for a place to stay between Rockhampton and Mackay on our ‘Grand Lap’ of Australia on 2 motorbikes. This motel was such a great find. The motel cooks home cooked food and brings it to your room. Good selection of food (although no vege selection but we didn’t ask so it’s possible they would be able to find something if you asked, we don’t know). Short walk to pub serving dinners or 7 minute walk to 24 hr garage serving good roadhouse food and also plentiful other things like yoghurts, carrots, tinned food, sandwiches, cheese, ice-cream etc. Nearby train noise could be heard occasionally but certainly not enough to disturb anyone. Large, deep overhang provided shade for the bikes after about 09:30. Wide parking space outside room. Very friendly guy on reception. Room spotlessly clean. Bed very comfortable. Shower good water pressure. Nice bathroom condiments. Proper full-sized fridge-freezer in room. Microwave and air conditioner. Kettle and the usual tea and coffee. Hairdryer. Comfy pillows. Good curtains. Quiet area. Importantly there was WiFi connection in the room although download speed was very slow so best for emails mainly. I think we were just pleasantly surprised because a lot of other accommodation on this stretch of road seemed lacklustre or wanting in some way but it seemed that the proprietors cared about the presentation of their motel and the comfort of their guests.

This little caravan park was a surprise. Really accomodating friendly staff. Yes its on the side of the highway but you really cant hear a thing. There is a roadhouse for meals for weary travellers and the cabin was comfortable and clean.
