Buffet breakfast was outstanding. The wonderful, very friendly, gracious host cooked better churrasco steak than the chefs in the fine restaurants in the mines. She told us where to get the best deals on amysthyst geodes, rocks, and gems. We also greatly enjoyed touring the mines and museums, eating in the beautiful restaurants in the mines, swimming in the swimming pool in one mine, and attending church services, where the walls are covered with tons of amysthyst. Visiting Ametista do Sul and staying at Pousada Sao Gabriel was one of the greatest experiences of our lifetimes.
