This was by far the best experience I have ever had in Costa Rica. I traveled to 15 different locations over 6 months and this host family was the most generous and helpful family I have ever known. They brought me food all the time (fruit, meat, vegetables and snacks) and even gas at one point for my car. They even took me in their Jeep to see a sunset. The facility itself is clean and impeccably maintained. The house has everything you need to cook with. You hear howler monkeys in the trees across the street and chickens next door. The outdoor living area is perfect for larger groups or families. There is a convenience store a short walk away where you can find some basic staples including some meat and vegetables but it is really small (one room) so I would suggest if you come for more than a couple days that you bring groceries with you because the bigger grocery stores are about 20 minutes away. The best part is you are in the country surrounded by farmland. The yard is completely fenced in for dogs. I felt safe with a relative living next door. Highly recommend!

EPIC spot with a great host family! Daniel and Nancy are extremely nice and courteous. The space is clean, beautiful, and has everything you need to be comfortable. If I’m ever back in the area, I will definitely stay another night!

The host greeted us as we arrived on the driveway. He was friendly and came back at the agreed upon time to show us how to turn off the outdoor jacuzzi, which wasn't hot, but given the warm temperature, it was a refreshing way to cool off before going to bed. The host delivered homemade breakfast to us at 7 am the next morning. Plus, he was very courteous when we thought we had lost the cabin key. BONUS: We listened to howler monkeys nearby as we ate our breakfast and had a pleasant hike on the hill above the cabins after breakfast.

Very nice place, great view all the way to the pacific coast. Very calm place. The house is well organized and has plenty of natural light. Host is very nice and makes you feel home. We enjoyed this place very much.

The property’s owner, Ana, and the staff were very kind and helpful. Ana arranged two tours for us, which were great learning experiences about local biodiversity and coffee production. The sunset view from the deck was terrific. On the morning of our departure, she and her staff kindly prepared breakfast for us earlier than usual. We really enjoyed our stay at ArteSana.
