Very comfortable bed, quiet location but after a long drive, it was necessary as I had an excellent night’s sleep.

Suzi and Jon (and Joop the dog!) are natural hosts and gave us a very warm welcome. We stayed in the 2-bedroom cottage, which was very spacious and well-equipped, making for a comfortable stay. The fire had been lit ahead of our arrival so we were cosy and warm. Suzi had offered us the option of dinner, which we had in the main house and saved us the bother of going out again after a long journey. It was a delicious homemade three course meal made with the freshest local ingredients (i.e. eggs from Suzi and Jon’s own chickens and venison from a neighbouring field) and was very welcome. We were travelling with our dog and Joop was a wonderful companion for him to run around the large, enclosed garden. There was also a lovely walk down to the river very close by. The arrangement of the property was perfect for our needs and Suzi and Jon made us feel genuinely welcome. We would definitely choose Les Granges de la Leigne again - we really enjoyed it.

Fantastic weekend break in a beautiful, picturesque village. The accommodation is charming and rustic and equipped with everything you might need, especially the kitchen, which feels more like a home than a holiday let. Simon & Dianne were very helpful hosts and made us feel most welcome. The village has some lovely restaurants and cafes within a couple of hundred feet, especially Jeux de Pots which was our favourite. Overall, an amazing short break and a place tgat we'll return to very soon.

Quiet and close to Verteuil sur Charente. Room was spacious and beautifully decorated with a lovely large shower.

The house was full of French character and furnished beautifully and very comfortably!! Located on the edge of the most amazing village we have ever seen. We enjoyed a wonderful week there enjoying the scenery and great restaurants it had to offer and exploring the surrounding villages and towns but none were as beautiful as Verteuil sur Charente.
