Vladimir was a wonderful host and even drove me to the bakery and back. Bedroom was light and airy and downstairs kitchen and living area comfortable and cosy in this beautiful 300 year old building.

An absolutely magical place this little roulotte! The owner has purpose built it completely by himself and it really shows in the little details that were put in which much love and care and eye for detail. The roulotte is much bigger than I assumed from the pictures and is really comfortable, cozy and dry (unfortunately it rained the whole day we were there...).

It was a pretty long drive from Milan, Italy to Traize, France but we took the scenic route through the Alps past Mont Blanc. This would be the last night of our trip as we would be flying out of Lyon the next day. The Chateau is located up on a hill in Traize with amazing views of the mountains and surrounding countryside. We were greeted by our host. Laurent met us at the front door with one of his doggies, Sally - who was very happy to meet us! After we settled in to the front room and enjoyed a glass of wine and a local beer - Laurent took us on a tour of the property and showed us the small chapel that was built onto the chateau many hundreds of years ago. His wife, Florence joined us for a drink later and then they showed us to our beautiful room - there is only one that they rent out at this time. It is huge, with a big bedroom, a large bathroom with a tub and a sitting area. The entire Chateau is filled with wonderful antiques - every corner has something precious and beautiful in it. They made reservations at a nearby restaurant and we met their other doggie (Sally's Mother) Pouffie. Our sleep that night was absolutely quiet and blissful - in the morning there was lots of hot water for the bath and they made a wonderful breakfast for us with farm fresh eggs, cheese, meat and baked bread. Laurent showed us his amazing vintage car collection that he has stashed out in a barn and then we had to say goodbye - I wish that we could've stayed for a few more nights!!! Thanks so much for being terrific hosts and letting us stay at your truly beautiful and romantic chateau!!

This is our very favourite part of France and the location was superb with views of the Mont du Chat (our favourite mountain) and lovely wildlife-rich countryside all around. It is really quiet here so a great place to relax. The house is well-equipped and we really enjoyed using the pool and outside equipment (we had wonderful weather for late September). I loved that there was a proper bath with a shower you could attach to the wall - many French places have small,deep baths and no holder for the shower.
