This was without a doubt the nicest B&B I've ever stayed at. The hosts are incredibly welcoming and go above and beyond to make your stay wonderful. We had a double room with a giant and soft bed and a great view. Starting points of several hikes were very nearby. Breakfast was very good and everything was perfectly clean.

Breakfast was just right: fresh, delightful variety of options, traditional if so chosen, hot coffee and juice. We appreciated an ability to choose breakfast time that suited our plans for the day. Jennifer was friendly, accommodating, and very attentive. It is our pleasure to highly recommend Ivy Cottage for future stays.

Braemar is tiny and the hostel is just a short walk down the road from the centre, where the 201 bus stops. Facilities are excellent : large kitchen with all facilities and storage space, a breakfast room, a dining/meeting room and a large sitting room with tv and sofas. My dormitory was spacious with very comfortable bunk beds and lockers. (You need your own lock). There are large washing machines and dryers in the drying room(where you can hang wet outdoor clothing and put boots etc,) (Full large load with powder and drier for £6). You can arrange to have hostel breakfast forc an additional fee. WiFi is excellent when working but has minutes when it cuts out, but that goes with the location and probably affects the whole village,
