The location was brilliant . . at the top of a hill in a nice small village. needs a good driver. Gorgeous pool and many exterior spaces.

The villa was unique. It was on the mountain top in a small lovely village. There was plenty of outdoor space with large terrace as well as a lovely pool. The views were amazing with sea and mountain views. Villa has all the necessary amenities provided for a comfortable stay and was very clean. Giannis the host was very helpful and always very responsive with the messages. He even left some wonderful welcome stuff. Village has a small Taverna called Maria's Taverna serving authentic cretan food. A must visit when staying there. Would highly recommend a stay at the villa for a stay away from the crowds yet close enough driving distance to the beach and the main tourist areas. Would love to go back.

The house was very spacious inside, with 2 large bedrooms, each having its own bathroom. There were 4 outside terrace areas so we always had somewhere to sit with a panoramic views and a choice of sun or shade. The pool was small, but plenty big enough for a relaxing swim after a hot day out. Kastellos is a traditional Cretan mountain village, away from the tourist crowds, very peaceful. It is only 10 minutes drive to a great choice of long sandy beaches. There are also well mapped walks in the in the hills around by a group called Chania Trails that we enjoyed. All sounds nice, yes? But on top of that is Maria's Taverna in the village with delicious freshly made traditional food and the warmest of welcomes. We all fell in love with Maria and her family. Don't miss the zucchini fritters or the yoghurt and home made fig jam.

The best choice for our holiday in Crete was this lovely traditional house. Everything was perfect since our arriving. We were so hungry and dinner was ready for us, plus in the fridge we could find fruits, eggs, vegetables, drinks. So nice and welcoming ❤ Lovely traditional details of the house, very confortable bed, stunning view from the terrace,, access to the garden for fresh vegetables, all these made our stay perfect. Taverna Maria was on top of it and together with house will be something hard to forget. Thank you for the experience! 🤗
