My girlfriend and I stayed here for 2 days in July 2026. Fajar is a fantastic host who has experience as a pastry chef from hotels in Australia, the Maldives and Saudi Arabia. He provided great tips for things to do in Wonosobo, the surrounding mountain area, Dieng plateau and even Yogyakarta which was our next destination. Fajar cooked delicious local food for breakfast (some of the best we had during our 14-day Java trip). He also made sure to have us try local fruits like snake fruit, star fruit and coco nut water straight from a fresh coco nut, which was very refreshing. Fajar offered driving service all through the stay. He picked us up from Kutoarjo train station, he drove us to the Mt. Sindoro basecamp in the middle of the night, and picked us up when we returned. He also drove us to local restaurants, and at the end of stay he drove us to the Borobudur temple, waited while we returned from the tour of the temple and drove us to our next hotel in Yogyakarta. After experiencing several drivers in Java, we can also say that Fajar was the safest driver we had. Fajar also has scooters for rent. We are Norwegian and are not used to the chaotic traffic of Java, however the traffic in the the area was manageable, except for the main road there was little traffic and mainly only scooters on the road. Renting a scooter was great to see explore the area on our own. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Thank you Fajar and your family for a great stay!
