Wonderful host, incredible location and facilities. We were very happy to stay there. Will definitely stay again if the opportunity presents itself. The apartment was impeccably clean, we found plenty of towels, toiletries, kitchen was fully equipped, a pleasure to cook, the apartment has gas heating, so you won't be cold even if its winter outside. Apart from that you get to experience the authentic Italian country life, which is priceless.

This is hands down the most refined, elegant and delightful place I ever stayed in, with an attention to detail that is absolutely insane. The rooms (and the whole estate, actually) are gorgeous and spectacularly well renovated, with an utmost respect for the tradition of such houses, combined with an infallible feeling for contemporary design. The large and joyous garden is sprinkled with classy sunbeds and little spots where you can relax, read or just drink a glass of wine. And then you descend through enormous bushes of lavender to the pool, which sits on top of a hill, overlooking the valley and fields and mountains around it. It's literally perfect. Flavio and Pedro, the owners, are the loveliest; they are helpful, welcoming and caring beyond words – and seriously cool, too. When I grow up, I want to be them. And then: THE BREAKFAST. It is out of this world (quinoa shrimp salad? bergamot jam? avocado bacon toast with a perfectly poached egg? Are you kidding me?!). Their kind dogs, beautiful cats and clever chickens only complete this picture of pure paradise. Rudy, I will love your gentle little paws forever.

Hosts Ryan & Massimo take hospitality seriously and have lovingly restored and decorated Casa Stella to create a comfortable and inviting home base to relax and enjoy the hills outside Bologna. A perfect blend of privacy/autonomy and hospitality. The setting is gorgeous, breakfast delicious, their local knowledge is deep and their enthusiasm for the food and culture is palpable. We stayed 2 nights and would have loved to stay longer.
