Simply the best accomodation I have experienced anywhere! Our stay with Maki, her Mother and Kenta dog was relaxing and magical after a week in Tokyo and Maki does absolutley everything to make you feel welcome and at home with her gentle, warm hospitality, The Ryokan itself is an elegant traditional building and is beautifully kept. The amazing Kaiseki dinner and breakfasts that Makis mother presents every night are a wonderful way to experience traditional japanese food after a relaxing onsen bath. Maki was simply the best host, she even drove us up to the start of our walk trail and booked our lunchtime soba restaurant. The local area is breathtaking even in late autumn / early winter and a walk around the shrines is enough to fill a very pleasant day, Wel ove you Maki and we will be back!

Very friendly staff and nice atmosphere. The facility is clean and tidy. During my stay, I received a lot of valuable information and recommendations, not only about Nagano but also other places in Japan. It was sad to leave this place.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The hosts were super friendly and nice and really went all the way to make us feel like at home. We had a great chat over dinner to learn more about the area and Japan in general. The room was spacious, very traditional but we'll equipped, we had heating to keep us warm at night.

we chose this place because we wanted a quiet environment to just spend time as a family. Hal was the ultimate host who proactively did all he could to make our stay as comfortable as possible. He gave advice on groceries, driving to his property and even the weather report because we were hoping to have snow. He also made sure to clear the driveway as it had snowed the day before. The appliances provided was clean and easy to use (thank you for the coffee machine). I loved this property and we were able to make many snowy memories that I will hold dear for a very long time.

The host is super friendly and very considerate, making us very warmly welcome even before arriving the Goat Base. We have experienced earthquake during our stay and the host would check out to make sure we are safe. The place is as new and equipped with high quality appliances and it has everything you need to stay as your home! It is also very spacious which we have no problem at all with 8 people staying. Location is also very good, 15mins drive from station and is just a short drive to Obuse. You don't have to worry about parking as there is an area in front of the house which can park 4 cars at least. We hope to stay here againg next time and for longer!

Exceptional home! A beautiful and authentic rooms, it feels like a transport back in time. Beautiful dinning rooms, and such a great bath! The kitchen had great grill. Comforting view to the garden. We loved our time here very much! A nice neighborhood that you can walk 15 min to most places in central Nagano.

Host was very responsive to questions and helpful about what was available nearby outside of ski season. Bit of a drive to Nagano (65 mins) and to do tourist stuff we wanted, but accomodations were great and very peaceful. Would've been perfect if we planned to just stay in and enjoy the peace and quiet. Would be an Amazing stay during ski season as walking distance to the slopes. The coffee provided was great and kitchen well equipped.
